bait4me Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I am going to a new lake tomarrow morning and dont know what to use for lures. I am thinking of using my go to bait a blue flack craw or a green pumkin craw and just flip anything were there is good cover. We have had a cold front come through the past few days. Reports say the water temp went from 57 to now 50 degrees plus or minus 2. Tomarrow it is going to be partly cloudy and about 50 out a north wind in the morning swiching to a south wind about noon. Any advice on lures I should use? Quote
Oscar O. Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Craw is a good idea as well are senkos. A slower presentation is ideal for colder water situations. You could try for a reaction strike, but it would seem unlikely. Although slow rolling a spinnerbait is an option. Good luck! Quote
extreme1018 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 try a 4 inch junebug kinami weightless let it sink and slowly drag it in. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Slow crankbait around the the deep sides of a flat. I'm finding them about 15 ft down in slightly colder water. (40) If you're on a warming trend, check any shallow, dark bottomed coves. Quote
BassinBoy Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Fish the last available cover on flats. Use lures you are confident in. Craw sounds good. Id Fish in 8-12 feet of water. Quote
John J. Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Wouldn't hurt to try a rattle-trap as a search bait. I would throw jigs, rattle-trap and even go with finesse fishing (small and slow). Your craws will work also. If nothing gives, try throwing cranks, and minnow plugs. You can also try flukes. Quote
