Guys that operate this site: It's great but the server is so very slow. I hate to come here because of the wait for everything. I mean: I'm trying to listen to the Ike interview and it's not a video or anything, just some still photo's and Ike talking and it downloads like it's a freaking 5 hour epic production. Please check into upgrading your server and speed up the site a little bit. Compared to other fishing and hunting sites this one is low man on the totem pole as far as download speed. Otherwise, I believe this may be the best bass fishing site that I've come across. Guy's IT DON"T HAVE TO BE THIS SLOW. Please consider an upgrade.

This guy cracks me up. He's been a member for almost a year and finally decides to make a post, but his first post is nothing but a complaint about something he knows nothing about.

FYI buddy. We have the largest and fastest single server available. So you need to upgrade your internet connection or fix it so it can upload streaming video.

Untill then please come again.

c'mon guys, let's not bash him.... too much.  ::)

To be sure, a 150MB download is absolutely huge, and will take awhile even on the fastest connection.  That's why the link in my first post is a streaming file, not a download - to aid in a faster response.

That said, to judge the entire site by a single, massive download is unfair, to say the least.

And if you're on dial-up, sorry.  This site isn't optimized for slow connections because less than 4% of the visitors are on dial-up.

well, runs fine here !

Actually, I've rarely seen a fishing forum of that size that runs quite like this one.

Thanks again to the team for its very good managment!

I've got a broadband access in France, and as for the Ike video .... the streaming went perfect !

@Tn Hills: I think they know what they're doing. As for the site running slow on your comp, you might want to run a check for spywares and that sort of things on your own computer. Those things can dramatically slow your system down. Just my ¢2 !

And you probably won't.  The boss spent a good chunk of change and spent quite a few hours getting this site to perform at this level.

Then why are you still here after the upgrade?

Well, first of all let's WELCOME him to the BR forum. I know that when I downloaded the interview it took like 15 to 20 minutes but after it was downloaded, it was GREAT. From my home dual processor CPU this Fantastic Forum is lightening FAST.

Anyway, WELCOME to BR, Tn Hills!!!

A Memember for a year, and this is your first post.Geez!!!!

If you have been around this long, You know how much faster this place is. I have cable boradband, if it was any faster it would be IM speed! So what fast sites are you talking about, with lets say more than 50 members?

This site runs great. I have a cable broadband at home and a ISDN line at work and both computers work great on this site. (and the home computer is an older model that needs to be replaced). Besides I'd be willing to wait a while to get to the wealth of tips and info provided here 8-).

That could very well be the understatement of the year.  No joke.

However, you really need to thank the sponsors of this site, because they made it possible to do the upgrades.  I couldn't have done it without them.  This includes the newer sponsors as well.

Please show your appreciation by purchasing something from them today.  Help them support BassResource.com.

Thanks!

Up until 2 months ago, I had DSL, and the pages on this site "sometimes" took forever for me to open also. Then I made a move, and ended up with Comcast high speed cable (for free) as part of the rent. Now the pages on this site all open up very quickly.

Turns out, the problem was apparently on my end.

Peace,

Fish

I have rural dial up max. speed 28 bps (bauds per second not the store  :) ) it is painfully slow, can't afford sattelite and I tolerate it, this site is fine.

I just avoid some of the video and such, not BR's fault.

Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope.

Well gosh, I mean if you read the first topic in the "important topics" is FREE.

These guys who run this site, I don't know how they keep up with it and still work and fish etc.

What does a guy want?

TN hills, notice how some members welcomed you after a rather insulting post...just saying...

No other fishing site even compares to this site as far as speed and and content. Any person into bass fishing can benefit greatly by reading the posts from the many talented fishermen who post here. I have spent a lot of hours over the winter reading on this site, too many according to my wife. Keep up the great work.
