BassinBoy Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 What are the best summertime hotspots that you catch your fish in and on? Quote
HesterIsGod Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I voted for weeds but my favorite is when a small creek runs into a river/lake. Add a laydown or some type of cover at the mouth and it can be an awesome spot. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 16, 2008 Super User Posted March 16, 2008 No vote Deep water offshore ledges, humps, & points with Hydrilla/standing timber/fallen trees near a river/creek channel Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 16, 2008 Super User Posted March 16, 2008 the thick stuff that gives the bass a chance to cool off in the shade...lilies, hydrilla, weeds, etc. a close second would be deep water Quote
Sam Bass Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Depends on the time of day,Lake Location, water temp,Cloud cover etc Quote
MNGeorge Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 We fish for Largemouth in only one lake. It is a small (100 acres) lake without a great deal of structure. We concentrate on the areas where the deeper water is closest to the weed edge and also fish the heavy pads later in the summer. For it's size, this lake produces a surprising number of 5 lb.+ fish. That's all I'm allowed to say. :-X Quote
Popeye Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I like to fish the tullies (reeds/weeds) along the shoreline and especially near dropoffs! In the early and late hours the topwater bite can be awesome in those areas. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 16, 2008 Super User Posted March 16, 2008 I love the weeds. Somewhere I read that when it get hot the bass will move into the thick stuff to get the oxygen from the weeds. Quote
