But it was my GREAT Grandpa who showed me how to fish. The cool thing is he taught my dad how to fish too. R.I.P. Grandpa Comby

there's nothing on this earth i would choose over 1 more chance to wet  a line with my gramps. He passed away Oct 6, 2007 - on my last bass tourney of the year.  He was an extraordinary and selfless man and i'm blessed everyday from having known him.

I can't help but feel like he's with me all the time now and I look forward to fishing with him this upcoming season. 8-)

Great Thread -

My Great Uncle really got me fishing hard . He used to be in the Mid west Bass Assoc. and fished a lot of tourneys . He gave me my first lure when I was about 8-9 and thats all it took . Also have to give Gramps and Dad a lot of credit too. Dad and I fish together about 12-14 times a year and If I can get Gramps out (stubborn ol SOB) We have a blast . Gramps hasn't really fished much since he lost his leg , but I did get him out for a trip last year . Caught the hell outta crappies and he had a ball . Now if I could just get him to go more often .  ;) Now I'm passing the tradition on to my kids and my step-kids . Hope they have as much fun as I do  ;D
