Super User Tin Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 Slowly I'm starting to feel the same way Mudster. I figured all the drama and complaining would be in the WBT. :
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 Muddy, can I have some of your popcorn?
Super User senile1 Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 This is why I avoid all competition when fishing. I fish to get away from all the strss and toils that life brings. You know I'm starting to see why you feel this way, Muddy. I feel the same regarding fishing. It is my way to unwind. Initially, this contest really didn't sound stressful to me. You know what I mean. I go out and catch whatever I catch and don't worry about it. If the fish is big enough to put me in contention, fair enough. If not, so what. It's really no skin off my nose. It's just fun to fish and if I catch a nice hawg, that would be fun to post whether it wins or not. PDBs original suggestion that LBH has followed up is a great way to run the contest. It is objective and fair. Let's do it and have some fun. Who cares who wins as long as it is fair?
Super User Catt Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 I can fish competitively with friends and still relax
surfer Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I see no stress. I am gona fish just like normal and report back on April 15 what my biggest catch was. You guys can do what you want with the rules.
Super User fourbizz Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 My point was is that the dude was trying to put something together. He had already figured out how HE wanted to do it. Nowhere did he ask for suggestions. I don't understand why people think that it should be one great big democracy sometimes. It was his competetion, he should be allowed to run it as he saw fit. I mean you can't spend 30 minutes giving the clerk at the gas station suggestions on what the rules are for the Lotto. Play or don't.
Bassnajr Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 "No man is an island unto himself." or something like that. Think BETTER MOUSE TRAP FOLKS!!! Sorry about the cranky factor. Cold weather+no fishing+negativity= CRANKY BASSNAJR!!!
Super User Tin Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 Same here Alan, but the Park is ice free. Sorry about the WBT comment guys.
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 I see no stress. I am gona fish just like normal and report back on April 15 what my biggest catch was. You guys can do what you want with the rules. That's pretty simple. It works for me, too! 8-)
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 14, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 14, 2008 And now you know why BassResource.com isn't a tournament organization, nor will it ever be.

Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 And now you know why BassResource.com isn't a tournament organization, nor will it ever be. Yep, because Washington doesnt have big bass. Exactly.
Super User Tin Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 It's perfect the way it is Glenn. Don't want it to be like the ramp an hour before the tourney. :
GitRDoneIke23 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 It's perfect the way it is Glenn. Don't want it to be like the ramp an hour before the tourney. : X2
Super User Catt Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 I settle it once & for all; I'll take on all of y'all, just go fishing and post the results on the outing page.
Super User RoLo Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 Yeah count me in on the Largemouth Division, now maybe I'll spend more time on the water By the way, I agree with the concept of basing weights on respective state-records...fairer is always better. Would it make any sense to pit a heavyweight boxer against a featherweight? Aside from the self-indulgence this post seemed to invoke, how about this fellow Lee, better known as Fishin Daddy. This guy is a relative newcomer to Bass Resource but he hit the ground running. Now he's heading up a forum-wide competition, has anyone gotten the impression that he LOVES competition? I like your style, Lee Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES! Roger
CJ Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 My entry: Best I can do.Atleast I got the shadows. I'm in for both divisions though I don't see me hurting anybody in the SM div.
Super User fourbizz Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 i want a chance to fish against catt and rolo. prime time!
Super User Tin Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 Well that weigh-in bag says you are #1. Nice fish.
Super User burleytog Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 Don't want it to be like the ramp an hour before the tourney. : What's wrong with the ramp an hour before a tourney?
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES! Roger "Big ones line up, little ones bunch up": Let the GAMES begin! 8-)
Super User burleytog Posted February 15, 2008 Super User Posted February 15, 2008 Nope, you gotta be wearing sunglasses that are at least 6X as big as your eyes. Kinda like this one...
