Thanks for posting the photo, if I knew how use computers would of tried myself. The 18.8 was caught way back in 1981 at lake Casitas on February on my custom hair jig with pork trailer. My PB is 19.3 on the same style jig from Castaic in March 1995.

Stopped fishing with live bait back in 1971. To date have been blessed to have fished most of California's big bass lake for over 50 years, catching several hundred bass over 10 lb and 5 between 17 to 19 lbs, still trying for the WRB.

Chris is a top trophy bass fisherman and has the skills to catch a bass of a life time, good luck Chris.

Dude,.....this is BassResource,....that kind of stuff only stirs the pot when it's on a forum of "wanna be's". ("I'm better than you" boards)

This ain't that place. ;)

Take a gander through the "My tournament or outing" section and you'll see some world class fish caught by some grass roots and not so grass roots angler's who range from "beginner" to "legend", but the best part is,.....we share how it was done ;)

No doubt. I have been here a pretty good while (since March of 2005), and I can honestly testify that this forum is, and has always been, just a great bunch of guys, supportive in every way possible, and hopefully it will continue to be so for a long time. You see ALOT of forums with just garbage, insults, etc., and this is NOT one of those places. I just want to say great job by Glenn, all the moderators, and especially all the great members. ;)

Will email a photo of my 18.8 (18lb 11oz) LMB, my PB is 19.3 however very poor photo.

WRB

Email? :-? Let's see that fish ON THIS POST!

Posted. Needed some help to post the picture, plus I like to keep a low profile.

WRB, that's a beautiful fish. :)

Thank you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that bass was getting a little ragged. She was tough old fish and jumped twice, coming up from about 17 feet of water.

29" long, 28 1/2" girth and in her prime a possible record fish.

Sorry, I've been having all kinds of problems connecting to the internet, since my recent move. Hoping it's fixed now.

It's been a long time since I saw the photo of your 18.8. What an incredible fish ! I love that hump shape to its back. It reminds me of Paul DuClose's HUGE 20 plus (IMPO) Nor Cal bass.

BTW, the biggest bass ever caught in Nor Cal was "only" an 18.7 lb'er.... So, although your 18.8 was not even your biggest, it still beats our "little ol' 18.7 ;-) .....and of course my "tiny little 18.4 :-) LOL

But hey now, (as it was recently mentioned) > "I haven't caught my biggest bass yet" < :-)

Hoping to stick the first 19-20 from Nor Cal this year :-)

Great fishing to you WRB,

Fish

My PB looks like some of these guy's swimbaits. I really admire the guys who do all the hard work to catch real trophy fish. FC, WRB, Randall, 4bizz and many others I can't think of now. You guys are heroes in my book.

Nice Bass, guys! I once caught a 28.14 lb Bass, but I didn't have a camera or anything, so I let her go and drew a picture of her on a gas receipt. Somehow I lost the only reel proof of the big fish (the gas receipt). I will try and draw a new picture of her and post ASAP! ;)

It's all about being on the right lake at the right time with the right presentation and being lucky enough to put the fish of a lifetime in the boat. I lost a few 20+, they huant me as time goes bye.

On the west coast "now" is pre-spawn, the right time, the rest is up to you.

Good fihing.

Those measurements make her a thing of beauty.  I don't care how ragged she is.   ;)

I have advocated for years that northern strain LMB should have a seperate record status from Florida strian LMB. They may look similar, but they are not the same bass; different number of lateral line scales for example. My PB northen LMB was caught from lake Casitas back in 1971; 12lbs 4 oz, also on a jig. The world record northen should be around 15 lbs., so any 10+ NLMB is a trophy bass, where a 15+ should be the bench mark for FLMB, since they can grow more than 5 lbs. heavier. Size is realtive to where you live, the climate and type of bass.

my PB is only a measly 4.1lbs...pretty sad for texas...although i have only lived here a bit over a year and only fished for LMB less than that.  i hope to get one over 5lbs this year and also increase my numbers in the 2-4lb range.

i caught this one on a t-rigged red shad 10" power worm in a private stock tank.
