Super User Bassn Blvd Posted February 18, 2008 Super User Posted February 18, 2008 Do all bass smell the same or have you ever noticed some have a stronger fishy smell than others? Why is this? P.S. Mook squad, we're talking bass here, not snapper... Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted February 18, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 18, 2008 SM and LM totally reak of shad on Ky.Lake, late summer through fall. That's it! I think.... The bass I caught today had a strong fish odor that I couldn't quite place but, now that you mention it, it was kinda like shad. The lakes I fish aren't overly dirty or anything and bass from a different lake may not smell as strong as one from another lake. Quote
