The male will remain on the nest protecting the eggs and fry for a time. After a certain amount of time ( maybe about 7-10 days) the male bass will turn on the fry eating many of them and scattering the rest of them. Some of us are obviously not smarter than a 5th grader as some of us forgot the definition of viviparous. 8-) Quote

The mother then gives live birth. The less developed form of vivipary is called ovoviviparity, which, for instance, occurs in most vipers. The more developed form of vivipary is called placental viviparity; mammals are the best example, but it has also evolved independently in other animals, such as in scorpions, some sharks, and in velvet worms. Viviparous offspring live independently and require an external food supply from birth. Certain lizards also employ this method such as the genera Tiliqua and Corucia. The placenta is attached directly to the mother in these lizards which is called viviparous matrotrophy Quote

The answers can be dumb, but if the individual asking the question is sincere and truthful then it is a valid question even though 99.9% of others may know the answer. I remember in 7th grade when the teacher had us doing math on the basis of a clock using 60 as our base number. But she failed to tell us that she was using 60 as the base number and a number of us were totally confused when we did the math problems. One guy finally got the nerve to ask the teacher what was going on and the rest of the class laughed at him. At recess a bunch of us thanked him as we had no idea what was going on. The "teachers pets" (mostly girls) knew but the rest of us were in a fog. So a forthright answer to a query is proper. Now, when I taught in college you had to be careful not to ask "Are there any questions?" without clarifying that the request for questions applied to the topic. A few times the class would ask off the wall questions in reply to my "Are there any question?" and they were 100% correct in asking. Yes, it was funny. But it only happened to me a few times. College kids. They know everything! Quote
