Super User Catt Posted February 2, 2008 Super User Posted February 2, 2008 I'm sitting here watching Beat Charlie Moore & remembering how much respect I've lost for this guy. His show starts off saying how Charlie will fish against anyone, I mean anyone; pro anglers, weekend anglers, pro athletes, brothers, sisters, anyone. Then I recall how he refused to fish against LBH : Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 2, 2008 Super User Posted February 2, 2008 I would rather watch grass grow then watch one of his shows. Quote
jaymc Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Life is short. Watching other people fish on TV is a pathetic waste of time in my view. Was puttering around this morning and the TV was on for background noise. First time I ever saw this Moore charcter. My thought was I'd rather have root canal than spend a day in a boat with that clown. Quote
Dean Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 His original show on NESN(New England Sports Network) was good. He would have famous people come and fish with him on his boat. I think Charlies just takin it a bit to far now... Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 2, 2008 Super User Posted February 2, 2008 I too am not a fan of this show...Bring back Brauer's show for me. Now that was interesting. Zona can go away too as far as I'm concerned. Would rather pick weeds from the lawn. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Super User Posted February 2, 2008 Although not a bass fishing show, "The Next Bite" is a fine show about walleye, northern pike and musky fishing. I like watching a show that tries to teach you something and this show fits the bill for me; as I'm not strictly a bass fisherman. I also like the "Bass Pros" and any Lindner show. Quote
Jake. Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I've never heard about how he refused to fish with LBH, what happened? (BTW I hate his show) Quote
brgbassmaster Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 i want to hear about not wanting to fish against LBH. becuase LBH would have gave charlie a run for his money. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 2, 2008 Super User Posted February 2, 2008 I posted on this thread a few minutes ago and afterword I went to ESPN's website and emailed them a short letter(They give you very little room to speak). First I thanked them for airing the bass fishing on Saturday morning. Told them I was tired of Beat Charlie More and Mark Zona and asked if they were working on any replacemnts. Also asked them if they could give us some programming on the life of a pro or amateur fisherman that was trying to make it in the sport. Stated that I would like them to do more behind the secenes programming like being on the road, aproaching sponsers, and their prepration for the long year. May or may not get any response. If any of you have any ideas send them to them. Maybe it will help. Quote

Cajun1977 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I dont remember charlie moore or espn ever refusing to fish against LBH. As many challenges as they probably recieve how could they fish against everyone? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Roughly 60,000 challenges/yr. That part is understood. We just wanted a REPLY. I felt that if I knew they had actually looked at the challenge, it was a no brainer. Winners all around. I ended up meeting someone who is close to Charlie recently, he hand delivered the challenge,......still waiting...... HERE'S the old story Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 4, 2008 Super User Posted February 4, 2008 His accent and arrogance gets on my nerves. I switch over to Versus or ESPN when his show airs. Quote
Korea_Bassin Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 LBH, I read the entire 12 page thread and it ended with an explanation of some Bass earrings. What happened with the challenge? That was never explained. Did you ever receive anything back saying that you were rejected or just left hanging without any answer? Just curious. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Left hanging. This was awhile ago too. Like I said, I KNOW Charlie has personally been handed the challenge. I have a UPS driver friend up in Mass (pete Langlois) who told me he sees him a few times a month, they went to HS together. He hand delivered it. I have another friend that knows him well too (Joel St. Germain, was on the show) and had sent him an email explaining that we are legit and merely looking for a reply,...nothing. You'd think maybe he would email me,........it was ALLLLLL explained in the letter he was given. He told my friend he would answer us...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzz The real kicker is he gets 60k challenges/yr but still has DUPLICATE guests. I'm thinking he knows better than to fish against us. Imagine,...an actual challenge. I was thinking of changing the challenge. We could have a few of the kids from CAST fish against him if WE are too intimidating...lol Whatever it takes,...like I said,...all we want is to be heard but Chuck has his hands over his ears for some reason. Not holding my breath anymore but man is it annoying to hear him say..."I challenge you....to Beat Charlie Moore,...all you have to do is".......CLICK channel changed. Quote

Super User Tin Posted February 4, 2008 Super User Posted February 4, 2008 I filled one out before the show even started airing, and of course nothing. This guy gives New Englander's a bad name, and an impression that we can't fish. I won't even watch his local show on NESN anymore. Atleast Zona can fish a little, lol. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted February 4, 2008 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted February 4, 2008 I refuse to watch just because he is arrogant and obnoxious. Zona i like and think he is funny. I know Roland is probably the best of all time but I can't watch him or Jimmy Huston or Bill Dance for that matter. I think the constant merchandising is what gets to me. Quote
ba7ss3in Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Yeah not a fan of this guy and I have forced myself to watch his show because nothing else was on Quote
Popeye Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 IF he continually fails to accept a challenge, doesn't that make the very title of the show "Beat Charlie More" FALSE advertising by the sponsors?? Quote
