jerbs Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 It recently poured here in San Jose, CA, thankfully filling up all of the reservoirs. Water level is up anywhere from 10-20 ft on different lakes with less then 1 ft visibility. 48-51degrees. Got any tips... ;D I've been using bigger black jigs, w/ rattles, and scent. Fishing from 0-20 ft. What's better to fish, the warmer but dirtier water or the colder but clearer water? cheers! Quote
jerbs Posted January 30, 2008 Author Posted January 30, 2008 whoops...I didn't see the "what would you do" thread talking about the same thing. You can still add your .02 here if you wish ;D Quote
Super User cart7t Posted January 30, 2008 Super User Posted January 30, 2008 Hot, wet and dirty is the best IMO. Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 30, 2008 Super User Posted January 30, 2008 Stay shallow, the jig with rattles is a good choice. Find some wood and just start pitching. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 30, 2008 Super User Posted January 30, 2008 B ee rr u n Yep, fishing right now with those conditions is a waste of time. :'( Quote
Guest muddy Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 OH OH, WHEN I SAW THE TITLE OF THIS THREAD I INSTANTLY GOT THIS IMAGE IN MY HEAD>>>>YIKES Quote
tfisherman Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Find the warm creeks and fish shallow cranks all the way back to the warm water. Hit the points with cranks and try a spinnerbait some to. Quote
silvercliff_46 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Lets see...., I am sitting here and it's -10, supposed to go down to -20 with wind chills to -40 to -50 and blizzard conditions. My advise...., go fishing, get out as early as possible, stay as late as you can. Remember everything you did (all of it) then come back and tell me everything you did. When you finished.., tell me again. :'( Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 31, 2008 Super User Posted January 31, 2008 Single Spin Colorado Blade at least ½ oz & bump a stump Quote
jerbs Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Thanks dudes...(except for that picture ;D) So do you try to find the warmer water or the clearer water? Quote
tfisherman Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 warm and dirty!! Kind'a like coffee Remember there's always at least 2 sides to every lake the fresh water (river) side and the dam side. They both fish completely different!!! The dam side usually is clear and deeper and the fresh water side shallower and more stained. Again they fish different and are effected different by cold fronts, rain, and warm ups. What's working on one side of the lake probably isn't on the other. Quote
Guest muddy Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 That may be true for impoundments, but up North here there are a lot of Natural Lakes and not all are fed by rivers : Quote
Cory20 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Aint that the truth Muddy! I've seen lots of reading material that mainly focuses on impoundments with pelagic bait fish. Anyone have any good reads for natural northern lakes? Quote

tfisherman Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Well here in the south we actually have a summer so we decided to flood our farm land so we could have us a good swim'n hole, and come to find out there's fish in them there rivers! : Sorry, for natural lakes go from one side of the bowl to the other side of the bowl until you find the fish Quote
