c17Lat Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 top five best fishing shows out there right now 1. a day on the lake 2. Bassmaster elite series 3. the bass pros 4. north american fishing 5. lindners angling edge The only thing wrong with a day on the lake is the fact that they only do a few episodes a year!! and it's only gonna run on espn from january to march!! I don't understand!!! anything u guys think should be on this list instead of the ones up there? My honorable mention is bass edge and "world's greatest fishing show" Quote
jdw174 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 JMO of course, but the best fishing shows are no longer being made. "The Bass Pros" is currently the best out there. Sadly missing are either of Denny Brauer's shows and the "Fishing With Larry Nixon" program. Those programs were designed to actually teach you something. While I might occasionally pick up a thing or two from one of the other shows I don't think they're in the same league. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 I agree with your list, they are my favorite shows right now. I also agree with jdw174, I really liked Larry Nixon's show. Falcon Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 Schooled by Denny Brauer was my all time favorite, but Day On the Lake is a close second. Today's episode with Tommy Biffle was great. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 Schooled by Denny Brauer was my all time favorite, but Day On the Lake is a close second. Today's episode with Tommy Biffle was great. X2 Quote
dman Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I have The Bass Pros DVD but what station does it come on? Also when is Day on the lake on? Quote
Super User Tin Posted January 26, 2008 Super User Posted January 26, 2008 On the Lake is on Saturday at 8am on espn2. Quote
PeterF Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I'm going old school but if information is what you want, Bill Dance is the man. Not the most exciting but full of info. Quote
Saladmander Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 1. Bass Pros - I think most informative for techniques. 2. Bass Insider - Was my second, but I don't know what happened to it. So, it's a Day on the Lake. Bill Dance is good for info and facts. 3. Hunt for Big Fish - That show is just fun to watch. 4. WGFS - Mark Zona is pretty cool. I think he'd be a fun person to spend a day on the water with. 5. Charlie Moore - My father-in-law hates him, but I think he's a riot. Quote

LooksLikeSinbad Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 My current top 5: 1- A Day On The Lake 2- Lunkerville 3- Scott Martin Challenge 4- TWGFS 5- Elite Series Tournaments Quote
MemphisFisherman Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I'm going old school but if information is what you want, Bill Dance is the man. Not the most exciting but full of info. /slap I can't stand what Bill Dance has become, all he does is float around in his private aquarium and tell you the same information he has said for the past 30 year's, if you've seen one or two shows you have seen them all in my opinion. my top 5 #1 Scott Martin Challenge #2 Bassmaster's Elite #3 The Bass Pro's #4 Ultimate Match Fishing #5 Hank Parker (hasn't sold out just yet) I really don't enjoy watching fishing on TV that much, I enjoy informative stuff and tournament's alot more that I do just watching people reel fish in. So I'll include my top 5 hated show's. #1 One more cast with Sponser, I mean Shaw Grisby (SUFFIX, SUFFIX, SUFFIX) #2 Roland Martin (oh look there I caught him right under the Mercury 225 Optimax) #3 Bill Dance (hey folks we are here in my aquarium, hey camera man stick another 4 pounder clone of the last fish on my hook) #4 Al Linder (don't know what it is about this guy, maybe his accent, haven't liked him since I was a kid) #5 Allen Warren Outdoors (pansy with a glove) Quote
Jake. Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 My top 5: 1. Scott Martin Challenge 2. A Day on the Lake 3. Bassmaster Elite Series 4. The Bass Pros 5. Jimmy Houston Outdoors Quote
largemouthTN Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 My top five would have to be: 1. The Bass Pros 2. A day on the lake 3. Strike King Pro Journal 4. Scott Martin Challenge 5. Elite Series Quote
BiggerWorm Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Right now I only get ESPN, so my favorites would be Bass Masters Elite Coverage, and "Day on the Lake." I think "Day on the Lake" is one of the better shows to have come out in a while. I really miss Schooled be Denny B" I wish they would being that one back. Charlie Moore is pretty funny, but I can't even call this a fishing show anymore. Quote
LooksLikeSinbad Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 3. Strike King Pro Journal I've never heard of that. What channel is it on? Quote
Willzx225 Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I will agree that Fishing w/ Larry Nixon was a very informative show. You did not see any Helicopter Lures or Dancin' Eels ;D Quote
