Did anybody see "Hook 'N' Look" on Versus this morning? It was the most incredible film on fish behavior I've ever seen.

First it shows him actually petting some smallmouth. Then he shows the spawning ritual, the female was quivering so violently, he said he could feel it in the water. The last part shows him bed fishing. His son is in the water filming the catch, fight, and return to the nest.

If you have the opportunity, I suggest you watch the show, it's well worth it.

Yes they could have. It's pretty cool how fish will actually come up to you sometimes just to see what that big thing swimming under the water is. They don't seem to be scared at all.

Yes, this is the second time I've seen the show. The first time I was a bit skeptical, thinking it was 1/2 a fishing show and 1/2 an info-mercial. But now I'm re-thinking it. This show was really well done! Can't wait for the next one! Anyone know when the next one will air?

I saw this show today. Sad thing is I was up at like 5 am with nothing to do so i turned on my tv and saw this fishing show on versus. It was a good show and had nice footage of fishing a bed for smallmouth bass. I just loved the underwater footage off the bass going through the spawning ritual. The best part though was when the angler hooked a big smallmouth and it came unbuttoned very far away from the nest. Then the underwater diver followed that smallmouth bass all the way back to his nest. The bass was able to find the nest even though he came unhooked very far away...

This past Hook n' Look show with the spawning smallmouth was awesome.  It gives you an idea that the fish do indeed know how to get back to there nests to protect the eggs.  It would be cool if they could take this a step further and actually place a tracking device in the smallmouth and bring it to some other bay like during a tournament and release the fish from a whole new area.  I would like to see if or how long it would take the smallmouth to find it's nest.  I seen ESPN with those tracking devices on their shows.

yeah, I have started saving these shows on my DVR so that I can watch them again -- I think this was the guy who did some video for one of the original Bass Saturday shows after ESPN got connected with BASS.  Really cool stuff.

Yes, Great show I like the smallmouth hitting the divers finger or the smallmouth picking up the tube by the tail! Coool stuff.

I saw one before about spotted bass. Very cool show. I really like any show that shows lures in the water being hit by fish. Lindner's Angling Edge does that sometimes, but it isn't a feature of the show.

I didn't like the last few episodes of the show, but this last one with the smallies was awesome.  I loved watching them interact with the diver and watching them hit the lures.  They need to do more of that type of footage for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, Kim Stricker said yesterdays footage was on the "Close Encounters" video you can order from his site.
