People just like to jump the gun without having all the facts to make themselves smarter than others. See it all the time at work, lol.

HBA great job in keeping your cool in all this, I know I wouldn't be able to. 8-)

Matt Fly-Wow, thats all I can say, lmao ;D

So what do they do now?  Sure it may have been mostly trout but if the stuff is killing everything right down to the shell fish upstream, that's got to effect the fish downstream.  I'm curious to see (God willing your big fish survive) if they will have 10lbe heads and 5 lbr bodies.

Do states have restocking plans for accidents like these?

That really sucks on a bunch of different levels >:( :'(. I feel for you my friend. I had a small lake that I was just learning about and the owner stopped all fishing. He got scared of lawyers.

ok, I have an idea.

Are you familiar with your local club scene?  no, not the disco, the bass clubs, lol.  It's not necessary but would help.

If you contact your local president, you can ask to be put on their agenda to speak at an open meeting to request volunteers.

I suggest you ask the town for permission to rally some anglers to restock it yourselves from other area resources.  Everybody fill the live well with certain recommended species, give them a good bath in Aquarisol and let em rip.

This may put a couple guys on your bass hole.  If that would be the case, maybe you could contact Trout unlimited, but either way, you can show how the citizens can get it done.

Just a suggestion.

L_B_H... Thanks for insite. I appreciate it.

A little info for ya...The Town of Medicine Park, buy's Rainbow Trout.

I believe from Missouri. They spend alot to get them here & stocked.

Medicine Park is only ask'n 'The City of Lawton' to re-stock the creek

with Trout.

So, with what ya suggested...Would it make a difference?

Depends if they go for it or not I suppose.

But even if they pay to replenish the trout (finally got my video to work), there are lots of other gaps that are going to be missing from the food chain.

From freshwater clams and Catfish to biozymes and Bluegill.  These are the things I'm talking about replacing, not just the bass and trout

Well,

It seems that all the 'Town of Medicine Park' is conserned about is...

The Rainbow Trout & nothing else >:(..Some  Town i got to live in ::).

I did find out, they had the same so called accident back in 2003.

Hopefully the accident that your creek is now dealing with

is no worse than the one that took place in 2003.

I say that because, judging from the size of the bass you caught,

they almost certainly were over 5 years old, which is a good ***.

In the meantime H.B.A., let's hope for the best.

RoLo~ The bass in the creek come from the Lake above it...

Lake Lawtonka.

They can either get through the bottom somewhere /or they come over the spillway.

This last summer we had major flooding around these parts & the gates at the spillway were raised up pass 72" for day's on in.

Needless to say a but load of water & fish came over the dam.

A lot of fish died from the wild ride through the creek & some survived.

I didn't start fishing the creek till about 3 year's ago.

I hade no idea the same so called accident had happened before.

So,on that fact...I hope the fish make it, like they have in the past.

A lot fish have died already & where i go for bass in the creek has dead fish lying on the bottom. :-? So, I'm confussed about what has been said about the fish down stream...They say they will make it.

Then why are there Blugill & LMBass lying dead on the bottom ???

I hope for the best for the this creek...It sure has been through Hell in the last year.

HBA,

Maybe they are talking about it getting more diluted the farther downstream as it mixes with more clean water :-/...

Sorrry man hope you find another great spot

It was actually clorinated water (drinking water) that was leaked into the creek. I haven't heard how many fish were affected, however treated water dissipates quickly in running water and the damage should have been minimal. I just hope the city of Lawton finds and fixes the problem. By the way, glad to see local on this board.

flipin4bass~ maybe that is why,in back of 2003 the fish survived it down stream.

I believe the guys are right, about the fish just driffing down stream & are located at where i fish.

Most of the dead fish are all in 1 spot { Bath Lake }.

Nice to see a local guy on here too.

HBA, just saw the thread and can't believe what has happened to your fishing hole.  It just stinks.  I'm not sure if the board members understand that the water treatment plant belongs to the 100k + population city down the road and not the little few thousand population community it's facility has affected.  As a former resident of Lawton I can vouch for the corruption of it's leaders.  I'm sure they will find a way to snake out of responsibility for this at MP's expense.   It's time to get lawyers involved if you ask me.  big
