Guest muddy Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Fellas I thank all of you. There are many on these forums filled with generosity and kindness, it is what drew me here and keeps me at BassResource.com. We all need to promote this in eachother . This article happened because of Zel mentioning what I was doing. I went along with it in the hopes that other guys who are thinking "What can I do ?" would get the idea that they can do the same. I do what I do because of what some guys did for me, to honor what they did to help me. It is not connected in anyway to the fellowship I belong to, it is just what these guys did to help me when my feet hit the ground and I was trying desperately to re eneter socieity and stay clean. I do not do good with big oranizational situations, like Russ does. I tried to get involved with CAST and it was not my niche. There are many different people out there like Kids, Vets and that need a hand. I know and can identify with guys getting clean and fellas coming out of jail. This is who I have chosen to serve. It is a good thing in life to reach out and do something poisitive and caring for someone. In this Christmas season we all should look at this. Many of you know I have a deep and profound belief in God, but I do not have a religion, I just ain't feeling religion. We all know the Christmas story and I think that it is important to remember that the story itself lets us know how to live. We all know all the names of the story Form Joseph and Mary AND MOST IMPORTANTLY JESUS to the names of the Magi, What I do not know is the name of the Innkeeper that gave this homeless family a place, in a barn for them to bear their child. For me the essence of Christmas was a humble and anonymus act of charity to a homeless family. In that spirit I hope that all of us in this season and everyday of out lives take the oppurtuinty to give something of oursleves to put a rod and reel into somebodys hand so they can experience the peace, joy and freedom it brings to each of us. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all of you Quote
Guest avid Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 "Humble and anonymous" Just for today, may I be inspired by these words to selflessly perform at least one random act of kindness. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted December 20, 2007 Super User Posted December 20, 2007 MERRY CHRISTMAS! Quote
frogtog Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Muddy I think you know as well as me that when something comes from the heart, it will always be repaid. Merry Christmas Muddy. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted December 21, 2007 Super User Posted December 21, 2007 Muddy, that was the longest and most eloquent post that I think you have ever made. The great thing about the human race is that random acts of kindness happen throughout the world with great frequency. The great failing of the human race is that random acts of brutality seem to happen with the same frequency. Our best hope is that you, and others like you throughout this little planet of ours, can make enough of a difference to make this world a better place, one person at a time. Merry Christmas Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Very well said Dominick. Like Mike said,...one person at a time. We do what we can but it's not totally selfless, not for me anyway. Since getting involved with CAST, my heart has swollen and my eyes have filled with tears. I feel alive again and my involvement, although aimed at helping the kids, has greatly improved my "quality of life". Merry Christmas to all and a special "Thanks" to all who got involved with CAST this yr. My RI crew especially, we'd be lost without you. MERRY CHRISTMAS (Now STOP ordering stuff!!!lol) Quote
