Super User FishTank Posted November 25, 2007 Super User Posted November 25, 2007 Christmas is just around the corner. What fishing equipment do you guys want Santa to bring you? I'm hoping to find a new Shimano Stradic 2500 and maybe a St. Croix Avid or Legend Tournament but I have to get the kids taken care of first. Ho, ho, ho!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Jake P Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Im set rod and reel wise. I think im gonna ask for a bunch of tackle and a new tackle box. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted November 25, 2007 Super User Posted November 25, 2007 Daiwa Steez 8' Flipping Rod and Lowrance 10" LCD Unit for the front of the boat. Oh, and some new underwear. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 25, 2007 Super User Posted November 25, 2007 I must be getting clothes. Just noticed a BPS sack in the trunk of the wife's car today and I KNOW she' not shopping for tackle! Girls find sooooo many ways to waste money. : Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I'm getting a new 32' Regulator CC, 4 new Penn 130 two-speed reels, the new Furuno radar,a small house in the country, Roberts rod collection, that cutie that works at the bank, a candy cane, a contract with Bassmaster University to go teach for 250k/yr, a pony, a 2005 Aston Martin Vantage, and a new alarm clock because I just smashed the one that woke me up from this dream. ;D Quote
Guest avid Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I'm in a bit of quandary this year. This will seem totally obnoxious to many of you, and I don't blame you, but my problem is that I have more than enough of everything, and it's all high end stuff that I love. I have I have 7 rods, 5 GLx's one legend elite and one Legend Tournament bass crankin' stick. I have 4 TD-Z's, an upgraded Sol, a Fuego, and a steez. Plus I have assorted "retired" rods and reels, that still work fine, I just don't use them anymore. Oh, I forgot....I have an Okuma swimbait rod with matching Okuma round baitcaster for heavy swimbaits. I also have a couple of ultra light avid series spinning rods with assorted daiwa or shimano spinning reels for playing around with bream I have a St. croix flyrod and a custom Star rod for inshore fishing. I have dozens of my favorite lures, and lot's of other stuff I never use. I donated a bunch of tackle to Muddy's program but I still enough left over to fill my garage. Like I said, I know this sounds like I'm trying to flaunt being rich or whatever. Trust me ....I ain't. But when your as old as I am,,, and bass fishing for as long as i have been, you accumulate lotsa stuff. then you upgrade it all, and you have even more stuff. All I ever buy these days is hooks, and line. whatsa basser to do? Quote
KYbass1276 Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I think I'm good on the fishing dept. I would like to have a new Matthews bow though. Quote
Jake. Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I usually just ask for money for Christmas, so I plan on buying a Revo SX for the new Avid I just bought, a scale, a new tackle box, and a new ultra light combo for bluegill and crappie. Oh, and a few more lucky crafts. : Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted November 25, 2007 Super User Posted November 25, 2007 I'm set with rods and reels, I have a few lures I want to get, but that's about all. My one big want/need is an Aqua View camera. I've always wanted to see what is down there in a few of my favorite haunts. I'm just having a difficult time convincing the Minister Of Finance. bass109 Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I guess i'm done buying tons of tackle this year. 8-) Might get a few on christmas though, nothing big. Quote
John J. Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I've got a lot of tackle to begin with and I really don't need much. But me and my family drew names to see who were are going to buy for (besides everyone buying for everyone and spending a whole lot of money), and my brother in law drew me, and the limit is $50 (no more), so I told him a few tackle things, maybe a new rod/reel combo or stuff like that. And then my parents might buy me a cd player for my truck. It came standard with an am/fm radio and I have a lot of music cds that I'd like to listen to as I am commuting back and forth to college everyday. So possibly a new cd player for my truck and a few baits or a rod and reel combo this year. Quote
MattStrykul Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 John J if your truck has a cassette player you can get one of these.... http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/go/goodmans-gck26mp3-car-kit.jpg Plug it right into a portable CD player Quote

Tokyo Tony Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 This won't necessarily be for Christmas, but moreso before iceout next spring. I'm looking to get: Loomis GLX (I may end up with GL3 - depends) casting rod with Revo SX Loomis Bronzeback rod with either Shimano Stradic or Pfleuger Supreme *maybe* a new 5 or 6 weight flyrod and reel Cheapish used bassboat ~16ft Obviously the accumulation of lures will continue throughout the winter. Ambitious but possible if I *literally* play my cards right. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 26, 2007 Super User Posted November 26, 2007 A new Lowarance LMS520 GPS unit. Quote
Davis Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Wife and I don't exchange for Christmas. We just buy for our families and of coarse make sure our son is taken care of. Quote
tntitans21399 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Since This was my first year at Bass fishing and started with the bottom rods and reels, I will maybe ask for a gift card to BPS, Academy Sports, Walmart, or Dicks Sporting Goods to upgrade rods. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 26, 2007 Super User Posted November 26, 2007 Wife and I don't exchange for Christmas. We just buy for our families and of coarse make sure our son is taken care of. Well, that's probably been a good thing for some years, but do YOURSELF a favor and get her a gift anyhow! You will be miles ahead and your life with wife will be soooooo much better. Build up a few chits, you never know when you'll need 'em. 8-) Quote
Guest muddy Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I am just hoping to have enough $ available to make those closest to me know that I was thinking about them this year Quote
mattm Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 My wife asked me this the other day. I'm still trying to decide between another guided fork trip or a carrot stick and Revo STX. Quote
