I am from wiscosing and am looking to make a trip somewhere in the country to get into some great bass fishing in march.  i went to table rock last march and had mild sucsess.  this year i was looking for something alittle more fast action.  any suggestions? i like fishing with jigs and spinner baits primarily.  And with the dirty water up here we don't get to sight fish ever so that would be fun too.  i was maybe thinking lake fork?

Welcome. If you decide to come to the Texas area there are really to many to list. A few would be Fork, Rayburn, Toledo Bend, O H Ivie, Choke Canyon, Amistaid, Falcon, Texoma, are just a few.

Welcome!  I've been going to east Texas since '91.  Started going once a year in Feb. or March but now go 5 - 6 times from October to March.  Fork is to bass fisherman as Pebble Beach is to golfers.  It can kick your arse but you have to do it.  Within 90 minutes of there, or less, there are countless lakes to fish.  Quitman, Cedar Creek, Purtis Creek, Tawokoni (sp), Athens, Tyler, and others.  I can't think of a better area to spend a spring vacation than east Texas.  Always a chance for a pig and #'s can be good as well.  You will not regret east Texas!

If I were you I would limit my search to the southernmost part of the US, specifically Florida or southern Texas, never been to Florida to fish but Texas I know well: Amistad, Choke Canyon, Falcon or cross the border to Mexico ( Amistad doesn 't count ) Sugar Lake & El Cuchillo.

Amistad is supposed to be crazy. After the first tourney there on the Bassmaster Elite Series a few years back a bunch of pro's bought property on the lake.  These guys fish the best lakes in the country and within a week they buy a piece on the lake because they fall in love with the place. Thats enough to convince me.

A big factor here is that the price was right.  Still undeveloped, they jumped on it .  I would bet it is more of an investment, than anything.  Not saying the fishing isn't awesome, just saying , they recognized an opportunity.
