First off, I wan't to acknowledge that there are quite a few senior members here who aren't here so much to learn anymore, but nonetheless,...are a continuous flow of info for newer or "growing" anglers.

From answering repetitive questions to sharing local knowledge (doesn't happen on just any board) to actually taking members who are primarily bank anglers, out in your boats.

The Deep-hook Removal Method with diagrams.  A number of the regulars here posted it or links to it so I credit them in general.  Ya'll know who you are.  If you don't know it, LEARN IT!  It is an invaluable trick that will save a lot of bass.

I've learned alot from alot of members just by reading their post.

But to name a few:

Dink came down earlier this year in the spring and gave me some needed confidence in jerkbaits.

Chris gave me crankbait tips that I applied with great results,just by reading his informative and detailed post.

Rolo gave me some great advice on offshore structure and taught me words I never knew exsisted.

Whittler taught me everything about painting cranks.

Here's a simple one from Catt that's helped me a bunch fishing jigs this year.

The 3 tap rule for fishing jigs

Tap 1 - The bass picks up the jig

Tap 2 - The bass spits out the jig

Tap 3 - I smack you on the back of the head for not setting the hook on the first tap

how to fish a t-rigged plastic worm....i basically didnt know much about LMB fishing a few months ago...AVID got me going on the t-rig which lead me to catching my fisrt texas LMB...thanks man!!

These "1" thing(s) are things that have brought many anglers to a whole new level

RW's post put me on the Fat Ika and ewg hook. I have picked up a little pocket

change with that bait. I have also learned to spell a little better. ( Not perfect just a little better) I have learned how to type with two fingers ( This has really impressed the wife) And I have almost learned not to let my mouth over run my brain.

Oh yea I still don't know were to put these little things ( ' . ! ? : ; ) any help would greatly appreciated.

Jig fishing.

For the past ten years most of my fishing with artificial lures has been predominately soft plastics. I have been focused on the jig for two years and in the last month or so finally "arrived."

#2 Swimbaits.

Although I have not advanced to the big baits, the smaller plastics (Mattlures Baby Bass and Storm Lures) have produced both size and numbers.

The most important thing I've learned can't be attributed to any one person here since I've heard so many say the same thing:  When using soft plastics, go slow...and whe you think you're going slow enough, slow it down even more.

I have learned a lot in the past few months that I have been here and have gotten a lot of advice from many knowledgable people. The thing that sticks out in my mind the most and I will try not to mis quote it is the words of the great LBH. Atleast he is the first I ever heard say it.

" The thing with bass fishing is that you can read, read, read until you are blue in the face but until you get out there and try some of the stuff, they are just words."

How true is that.

AintTexan has given me the most in depth, descriptive, and just flat out incredible advice on fishing a jig.

Of the many tips I've picked up here that have refined my fishing skills, the one that has helped me the most was roadwarrior's post on fishing senkos for beginners. I had zero success with senkos before that post. I now consider senkos (or ***) my skunk busters. Thanks RW.

I have fine tuned my fishing so much that there is no way to thank everyone, individually.

Sam, Basspro48, Dominion Dan and btlva for their help on starting off fishing for smallies. From spots on the Rapidan, Rappahannock, and James to baits as far as tubes, senkos and topwater plugs go. These guys gave me invaluable information that has helped me tremenduosly. I have caught almost 10 smallies in my first 3 outings and landed my pb 1lb 13 oz smallie my last time out and a 1lber at the James the time before. I really had no clue how to get started with this stuff and these guys helped me learn a couple of things that would allow me to start off and be able to catch off the bat. These guys even told me how to cast with current being a factor, how to retrieve, and where to look for the fish. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am. Thanks guys.

Also want to say thanks to anglernfuego, one of my new fishing buds from nova that I met on here for givin' me some tips on the buzzbait and how to work it and for building my confidence up in the frog bait landing some LUNKERS at MY local pond!!! Haha.

One of the biggest thanks of all goes to my dad, who I got into bass fishing on Father's Day by buying him a new quantum combo. Since then he's bought a Lowe's Fishing Boat and always comes to me first as far as spending a day out on the water with him. We've been able to talk and hang out more than we have in a long time and it's cool to know we can do that and bass it up each weekend. Thanks dad.

Lastly thanks to all the mods and senior guys for making this place what it is.  If it wasn't for you guys a lot of people probably wouldn't have hung out here as long or spent as much time as they do on here sharing information.  This is the best forum EVER!!!
