Heh all!!

Just a comment and hopefullly some responses...

What is up with the weather here in the northeast (the whole country for that matter)? I know about cold fronts, warm fronts, lunar tables and on and on, but what happens to bass and how do they react under these weather situations?? Cold one day, hot the next BROAD ranges of hot to cold weather AND water temps. Any ideas, comments,is it just the end of the world??

I can live with it. Makes delivering packages a heck of alot nicer. ;D

The last few weeks have been tough (for me) The jig bite has been slow (for me) and the name of the game has been dead sticking til you can't stand it any longer. I really enjoy power fishing, throwing a Rat L Trap or a spinner bait etc....

Went out today in Northern RI and put the smack down...the topwater bite was on early, then it switched over to a lipless crankbait kinda day. Burning a Yo Zuri Rattlin Vibe once the sun came up really turned up the heat. Wish I had tomorrow off! :)

We ended up with 22 fish in 4 hours. My partner Rick caught 11 LM, and I caught 9 LM, 1 Pick, and a nice sized Perch...

Normally our water ways freeze over solid by the 2nd. week in Dec. here in MA. Last year we were fishing open water just about everywhere during the 2nd. week in JANUARY. Then, and only then did it freeze up. I love it! Here it is nearing the end of October and the water temp is still 64 degrees!  ;D

Out here, we went from summer straight to late fall almost over night! About a month ago, temps here plunged from the 90's to the 50's and raining in 1 week, and have stayed in the 50's ever since (sans a few days in the low 60's).  Water temps are in the low 50's already - something you don't normally see until mid- to-late November.  Already had our first storm of the year....again, another "November" event.  Normally we get temps in the mid- to-upper 60's at this time of year.

Screwy!

....it's going to be a long winter if this keeps up.  :-/

Weather in iraq is finally cooling off...but not enough to convince the gods to let it rain enough to support a freshwater ecosystem, so i still haven't caught a bass since april.  God I can't wait for this deployment to be over with lol

Well, I fished the glass for the most part of the day, an ocassional breeze that didn 't last for long, an ocassional cloud that covered the sun as a much welcomed relief from the blazing sunlight and heat from both air ( 85 ° ) & water ( 70° ), tough conditions ( no clouds, no wind, no shadow and 20 ft visibility water ( could have been more but it 's difficult to say with all that bottom covered with algae & weeds ), very tough bite also.

Well, i'ts 72 degrees with a high of 76 for today. We better enjoy it because tomorrow temps are supposed to drop into the 50's and stay like that for the rest of the week.

Now is when it gets ugly for me. The cold damp weather wreaks havoc on my metal riddled spine.

Oh well, I'll enjoy my trip to Florida in February that much more.

I just look for schools of baitfish and watch the sonar on the boat for structure and fish.  I am having no problems catching fish right now when I use the swim senkos once I find one the structure or bait fish.
