There is a creek that runs behind my house that is probably about 15-20 feet wide. During the summer it was basically a mud pit. It had been infested with alligator weed and didnt look like anything could be living in there. In the last 2 weeks however most of it "magically" has gone away. Another problem has been the flow of the river. It used to connect to my neighbors creek which led out to the new river but the city made a road over it. Last year however they put 2 huge metal pipes in which dont really do anything unless theres a bad storm. It does lead out the other end to the main river but there are lots of trees down in the river that stop it up.

So since there is basically no flow usually and the alligator weed infested it a couple months ago would there be any fish in there?

What about the southern crossings? Marine Blvd. and Old Bridge St.? Are those damns or just overpasses? On hybrid they look like over passes. So, when the water is up I don't see why you wouldn't be able to catch anything tidal that may woner in. Especially now while salmon are spawining. The coordinates you gave kinda put me at what looks like a d**n with a dirt road on top of it. But the geography of the area (Wilson Bay) kind of looks a little like my area (Great Bay/Piscataqua Rvr. NH). I would fish it up.

Hmmmmmmm.  My Crystal Ball says " How the heck do I know!"  I guess YOU will have to fish it to find out.  I'm in Florida and can't cast that far.

NCThompson,

Yes there are fish in there, the only problem you are going to have now is that we haven't had much rain here in Jacksonville. The saltwater has made its way really far up river. They are catching specks and red drum in the old bass holes. I am planning on putting my boat in next weekend. If you want a ride, I won't ask for gas money or nothing. I can get up to 4 people on my boat so if you have a friend that wants to tag along let me know.

If you would rather not go for a boat ride, try looking for creeks farther up river towards richlands. Thats just a little hint until we get some good rain.

thanks jeremy. i didnt know there was anyone from jacksonville on here. i see some minnows swimming around in there but the river is pretty muched stopped up on both ends and theres alligator weed so it seems pretty tough for there to be fish.
