definitley not north american fisherman. that magazine sucks big time. not informational in the least bit. they also have vedry few bass fishing articles...and when they do they suck. in fisherman at least has good articles, but only about one is on bass fishing. so i'd go with bassmaster (never read it tho, but its all about bass) but your best bet it to save money and read bass resource!!!

I like Bassmaster and Bassin' the most, but those are mainly for bass fishing so if your not into bass fishing then those wouldn't be the best for you.

Bass Masters and Bassin' are the best for sure.  Somtimes field and stream or outdoor life will have some good articles.

field and stream is ok...they do have some good articles....but definitley not outdoor life. that is mainly hunting. i dropped both subscriptions because there wasnt enough fishing in them.

North American is the worst. I used to like Bassmaster but not anymore. There is plenty of info on this web page and the internet to get you what you need.

I like Bassin, however it isn't a monthly magazine. Bassmaster is pretty good. In-fisherman is a great all species magazine, I like it alot.

i like outdoor life. the only thing is that in the winter it is mainly hunting, but in the spring it turns into bass fishing. so if you hunt and fish it is the perfect i think

yeah I already have done that...at least some of them. Got a minilla folder in the file cabinet right behind the boat receipts ( that way when the boat folder is bulging and looking expensive I can read an article or two to remind why it is worth it!  ;D )

I suscribed to Bassin'. I worry that BassMaster would be to  "pro sponsors" and "pro" oriented. Bassmaster is BIG business and I feel that that sometimes hurts objectivity.

Don;t get me wrong, I love fishing magazines. When I was just starting to get into fishing when I was about 12, I subscribed to any and every magzine I could. Besides watching all the fishing shows on TV, they were my main source of education and information. Now though, I don;t have a subscription to any of them. Because I have the best fishing magzines in front of me...the internet. I really don;t see the point to spend money of mags anymore, the only time I would read them now is when I'm in the bathroom. There are more articles on bass resource to last a hardcore angler a year of more. Them you can read them over to make sure you got every last bit of info out out of it. After that, you'll be some knowlegable abotu bass fishing you could write your own magazine.

But to answer the question, I always liked In-Fisherman the best. Mainly because it was an all species mag and I just found it interesting learning the tricks, tactics, and how to's to catching a wide array of species than just bass, even though I haven;t fished for many other fish than bass, but that's due to my geographical postioning.

To my suprise there are A LOT of ponds and lakes in Massachusetts, most are on the south shore or out west, but we have almost every kind of freshwater fish here except walleye and sturgeon.

I concur with the great information offered here, but sometimes you just want to curl up with a good mag and browse through all the uplifting ads promising you an endless stringer of huge fish each and every time you walk out your front door  ;D. The In'Fisherman is tops if you are into multi-species, along with the oldie, but goodie, "Fishing Facts" magazine. Best thing to do is to walk into any Barnes & Noble book store and peruse their mag rack. They even have benches there so you can relax while do so! (Talk about a heck of a promotional ploy!) Then pick out the mag that has the most articles you are interested in and go for it.

I will read the "Day on the Lake" sections in both FLW Outdoors and Bassmaster Magazine and thats about it. But I'll read BASS Times front to back a few times.

you know what...the internet is great for some things...but I am old school. I like to have a print copy in my hand. I like magazines, newspapers...

I even still go to the library ( thats the big building your taxes pay for with all the books  ;D  I actually talked to a kid the other day...a high school junior...who had no freakin idea what the Dewey Decimal system was. That is sad.)

I use the internet for alot of things...but if you ask me...there is no substitute for the "real deal".

If you are a die hard basser, there isn't enough magazines to feed the need for more info even though 98.2% of all that info is the same, just re-=wtitten differently by someone else.

I was wondering why it took so long for some one to mention the Inside Line.

This magazine is one of the best.

Same here.  Reason is I like the multi species.  Reading the same bass articles over and over gets kinda boring when most of them are sales adds.

With Bass West I get all the new stuff the earliest.  Recently there was a great article on Jig Head Wacky.

With inside line I get tons of great information

With Bassmaster I get to hear from my favorite anglers.

Just curious, but why is it sad that a high school student doesnt know a system that was outdated years ago by the use of computers? Just becuase a kid doesnt know a system you used when you were younger doesnt mean that society has fallen...it just means that we are tuaght a system that is different. Not every kid is so ignorant as to not know about a library...we, as kids today as a whole) maybe avoid use the internet and computers more in lieu of a library book, but it doesnt mean that the world has gone to shambles or we are stupid. If a kid fails high school its becuase he doesnt care, not because we arent being taught wrong.
