And before the cold temps start to roll in in the next month in a half, i wanna get out to the lake.  I haven't fished in a long long time due to work and other matters such as being evicted out of my house of 17 years and needing to move 17 years worth of stuff in one night, not fun i must say.  But anyways.......i read the articles and stuff and figured jerkbaits, soft jerkbaits to be exact, work wonders around this time because the bass are starting to fatten up on bait fish.  So today i went out and bought...well aquired since i had a 30 dollar gift card, figured id use it to get some of those "pricey" lures that i had no want to buy before because they were so "pricey".  I got some Gulp Minnow Grubs, Gulp Minnows, Gander Mtn brand jerkbaits, rooster tails, and a spoon.  Any advice for this type of weather?  I mean if none of those work i have a tackle box full of stick baits, power worms, all kinds of plastics haha.  Any help would be appreciated, never really fished this time of year (Im up north so the temps are starting to drop and so are the leaves :-D )

when the fall begin's to roll in the shad will go up into the creek's, jerkbait's will be a good thing to try out since they replicate this.  then again as we all know, sometimes what should work, doesn't....so don't be afraid to toss something else at them or try out away from the creek's if they arent working, but creek's with a jerkbait is what i would try

Ah, the leaves are turnin

Ok kids,

Let's all sing hippie songs from the sixties.

Ready....................................................GO!!

"All the leaves are brown (the leaves are brown)

And the sky is gray (and the sky is gray-hay)

I went for a walk (I went for a walk)

On a winters day. (on a winters day)

If I didn't tell her (if I didn't tell her)

I'd be here today.

California dreamin' (California dreamin)

On such a winters day.

Moma's and Poppa's circa..................................waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day

Avid, you are good.

I love the Mamma's and the Papa's. The Beetles.  Righteous Brothers. Elvis. Areatha. Abba.  Rod Stewart. Fats Domino. Croche. Willy Nelson.

And the list goes on.

The bad thing is that when I am in the car I can actuallly sing along with most of the 50s and 60s songs first verse.

Now that is music.

Hey Jude.......................

I like to use dark colors this time of year.  Right when the bass get ready to fatten up for the winter 'lay over' they eat almost anything they can get their mouths around.  I've caught them on everything from black 10" worms to  Yum Crawdads.  I prefer the dark colors since they are easier to see in the dirtier waters.

My best lure has been a lipless lime green cranckbait with lots of little balls (pelets) that make the rattle.  I actuaaly lost it this weekend, but after catching 2 on it.

Having some great success on * flukes. Also Zoom baby super flukes in a ice color as well.

Just jerking them parallel to the weed beds has been very good as far as numbers go.

Tempted to try out the Gulp! Alive! Minnows. But 20 bucks for a bucket is pretty darn steep for imitations.

Anyone use the stuff yet?

i was about too but i dont know........20 bucks.......it's one of those "it HAS to be good for that price".  But there's some pretty expensive stuff out there that STILL doesn't work.

Exactly. I'm sure it would work well fishing it like a fluke. They are very "flexible and lively". But that price point is a killer. I think I would have just as much confidence and success with my 2.50 pack of flukes lol.  ;D
