Fish Chris Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Sorry I haven't been here in a while... My Largemouth fishing is pretty much over for the year, although I might do a Fall trip or two next month. I bought not 1.... not even 2... but 3 new cameras in the last 6 weeks, so I have been spending quite a bit of time on the Fuji and Canon forums. Besides all of that, I've just been getting my but kicked by the Stripers, while waiting for the big ones to come in. Problem is, I've been using 14" live Split Tails, and they are just too big for the 5 to 8 lb'ers that are already in. One buddy said, "You ought to drop down to 7" or 8" Split Tails".... To which I replied, "Why ? I really don't care if I catch those 5 to 8 lb Stripers anyway".... I'm looking for at least 20 plus lb'ers.... 30's would be better.... and a 40... Well, that's my goal :-) Hey, speaking of Stripers, here's a previously un-posted shot of my 31.2 lb'er from last year. It was actually a really poor shot to begin with.... but after a ton of photo-shopping, at least the small file size is acceptable for posting.... Will be back soon :-) Hope you guys are all sticking some good ones :-) Peace, Fish PS, Their must be a fish in this shot somewhere, huh ? ;-) This was Bodega Bay, taken with my new Fuji S6000fd, a tripod, a very dark lens filter, and a 10 second exposure.... Super User roadwarrior Posted September 25, 2007 Super User Posted September 25, 2007 Fish Chris, Your pictures are always THE BEST, and your fish are, too! However, I have caught a couple of stripers that weighed more than yours and were NOT half that size! The biggest striper I have ever seen alive, in person, weighed 44 lbs. I have seen a 52 lb or 58 lb (don't recall exact weight) mounted at Bull Shoals. NONE of those compared to the fish in your photo. So, all I'm saying is good fish, but an even GREATER pic! Quote
bass109 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 welcome back champ, I know you'll catch that 40lber. 8-) Quote
deepsessions Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 nice fish Chris! I never knew stripers in the Delta got so big. I've been going out of Rivers End this past summer and they have I believe a 67 and a 62 caught in past years out of the Grant Line Canal. Mammoth Fish! From what I hear the big girls are making their way in. Can't wait to get on some of that topwater action! nice pics. Quote
