Take me fishing.

       Because I get the giggles

       when the boat bounces.

Take me fishing.

       You can think about

       work later.

Take me fishing.

       And show me that worms

       really aren't icky.

Take me fishing.

       Because my wedding will

       be sooner thant you think.

Stop it!

Yesterday was my baby girl's first day of college. It seems like last week she was the little girl in your picture.

I have no better fishing buddy than my five year old granddaughter. Out of all the the things to do in life, this is certainly one of my favorites. It creates wonderful memories. By the way, how did the surgery go?, I hope well.

Great Post George,

Seems like yesterday my daughter was running track.    Seems like I just posted that I'm a grandpa for the first time,   and now he's one.

Time flies to fast.

I'd take her also.

My best fishing pardner is my 6 year old son. He went back to school last week and I have been wondering around aimlessly for a week. I told my wife I would home school him out on the lake or in the woods this fall (Hunting).

Great poem and picture!

My oldest is 22 this November.  My youngest turned 18 in March.   They are still the little girl in the picture to me.  I suppose that never changes.  When they're little you think, "I won't have to worry about them so much when they grow up."  Then they grow up, and you find you worry more than you ever did because, to you,  they will always be that little girl (or boy) in the picture.

Guys,I am getting to live it up right now.I gotta 9,6,and 2 year olds. The baby is a girl.Gavin is the middle boy and he is the bomb with a rod in his hand.

The first time I heard those magic words"Dad!!!I got one!,I nearly knocked over everything in the boat going for a net just to make sure that 14" smallmouth didn't get away!Gavin did everything on his own and had caught it on a tube bait.Without doubt, the greatest fishing moment of my life!  CJ

Great post GW.

I don't know where you found that little poem but it's the sweetest thing.

You young parents listen up.   My "baby girl" loved to fish with me and we did often, but not often enough.   I had work, or chores, or wanted to out without having to keep constant check on a kid.

WRONG

She is 29 years old, married has a successful managerial position in the jewelry business.   We still talk and laugh over fishing stories from 20 + years ago.

Find the time.  Make the time.

If you truly care about someone then you create the space in your life for them.

The time will fly by and their are no "do overs"

ps   Who is gonna post that Georges surgery went fine?

My best fishing partner is my daughter.  The boys enjoy it but she is the only one that will set and watch the rod the entire time.  I try to take them when I can but when you have three and all are in sports it is hard to find time to do anything.

i guess this is a great time to make my first post because i just walked in the door 20 minutes ago from fishing with my 5 year old daughter! She caught her first fish last week....an 11" bullhead !

It freaked her out a little but we cleaned up on taking 10"-12" inch bass today.....Good times! i'll enjoy it while i can because very soon she is only going to care about clothes, cell phones ect. :'(

Ditto. Tuesday morning I dropped my son left to attend the Fort Benning School for Boys. Fortunately, we had the chance to catch a few on the Rappahannock on Monday.
