FunnyFish Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Hey everyone, Has anyone tried the new Rapala lipless lure the cracklin rap. I like the looks of it and have actually bought a couple. Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet. I live in Wisconsin so I haven't been able to try it out yet. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 There have been a few posts on this recently. If you do a search for "clackin rap" you should get a few results. Quote
FunnyFish Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 yea I did the search was just hoping that someone has tried it out and how it worked for them. I live in Wisconsin man lol. I need the info. I live off of everyone's fishing stories until around late April Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 24, 2009 Super User Posted February 24, 2009 I'm interested, too! I saw the advertisement on the back of In-Fisherman, but haven't actually seen the lure or a report on performance. p.s. I picked up a few River2Sea lipless cranks at a boat & fishing expo this wekend. Any know anything about them? 8-) Quote
Pitchinkid Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I bought 6 or so. I do like the sound and the weight of them. Only a few colors i like though. Im kind of disappointed with them on the fall. I thought they would have more of a wobble on slack line like a Strike King Red Eye but its more like a missle to the bottom. Which isnt bad sometimes, but i prefer the wobble. No fish on them yet, but im still dealing with 30 + degree water tempatures. Im sure they will serve up some real nice bass holding on deep ledges in staging areas soon. Perch Color or Red Craw my 2 favortie lookin colors right now. Quote
ToledoEF Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Here is a couple pics of the one I bought, havnt used it yet since water today is at 33.9 degrees! (walleye run will be here shortly woo hoo) Quote
djmax22 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I have thrown it around in the pool and it seems like any other lipless crank. One thing that will stick out immediately is the size and weight. It slightly bigger the size 8 rattln' rap, but is much heavier. The bottom line is does it catch fish. I will let you know in two weeks. ;D Quote
FunnyFish Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Thanks everyone. I have already bought a couple. I tell you what though, everywhere I go those lures are almost sold out. lol We will see if it's just another cool lookin bait or if it catches fish. I wouldn't expect it to have to much wobble on the free fall. Think this lipless is made more for yo-yo or rippin. I bought it as a alternative to jigs in deeper areas. Quote
Super User Micro Posted February 25, 2009 Super User Posted February 25, 2009 Check how it sits on the bottom. This sits nose down, tail up. It's one of the best lipless out there for that. I think ti will make a good bed-fishing bait. Quote
