Branuss04 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 So I'm sitting here, very depressed, when I should be shining with joy. UPS just came by and dropped of my new curado I've been waiting for for weeks (New $125, ebay!!). But what good is a new reel without a new rod to lay it on, that's just common sense right?. This is where I reach my dilema. I don't want it to lose it's fishing "virginity" to just any old rod in my garage, that would be crule. I wan't it to be treated to a nice new shiny Powell 704 CB....... the one that I can't afford right now. So now it must sit and wait up on the shelf..... staring at me day and night, begging me to buy a new rod to lay it on. This my friends, is the WORST feeling ever. Quote
Guest avid Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Ahhh the bait monkey I knoweslt him well. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 accidently hit myself in the nads today, that qualifies as the worst feeling ever ;D Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 30, 2007 Super User Posted August 30, 2007 I 've got twice as many reels as I have rods and nope, I don 't have any kind of bad feelings about it. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted August 31, 2007 Super User Posted August 31, 2007 accidently hit myself in the nads today, that qualifies as the worst feeling ever ;D i can vouch for that as being the worst feeling ever. i once threw a super bouncy ball at a cynder block wall and it came flying back at twice the velocity as when it left my hand and hit me right in the male parts. couldnt get out of bed the next morning. :-/ :-[ BUT i'd say the worst fishing feeling would be casting your brand new lucky craft and on the first cast having it land on a dock and bust. or for that matter, having brand new anything and having it break its first use. dont feel so bad you dont have a rod for it, the time will come, be grateful nothings broken! fishingfourfun Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I have been on a roll lately. Two new Avid rods and two new Stradic reels. Now the crappy part, I had three gift certificates totaling $150.00 from Dick's that I have somehow lost. I guess I will have to wait a little longer on a new reel. The new wife has been really nice about my feeding the bait monkey! Quote

Bass Hammer Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I have more reels than rods also. Most of the time I have one or two at work.......It's therapeutic reeling a reel while somebody at work is talking to you. I say strap it on the closest rod and go throw it. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 31, 2007 Super User Posted August 31, 2007 Solution: Keep your eye on ALL the internet sites and buy a St. Croix Avid for $60-$80. They are out there! Quote

Lucky Craft Man Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I have a brand new G Loomis IMX MRB844C ($152 off of eBay) waiting for a new Shimano Curado. Maybe we should have these two meet. Quote

My new Med X-fast action Avid came in yesterday. But I felt "dirty" just thinking about putting my crap Mitchel Outback reel on it. So until my Pfleuger President comes in, my Avid will remain "naked". I ended up going fishing and left it at home. Also another reseason was because it was raining and I didn't want it to get "wet". Talk about babying a rod lol. I will feel better when my President comes in. Yes I know its ridiculous. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I had a bad feeling last night. I thought I lost a finesse worm mold and a beaver mold last night. took me 1 hr to find those suckers. :-? Quote

mattm Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Man, you have to do what you wanna do, but I would take Roadwarriors suggestion and until then fish it with whatever I had laying around. It will make that Curado that much sweeter when you get what you want. Quote
