BassFishingMachine Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Im looking for a worm I can weedless rig and will float. I was watching Bass Fishing Edge, and they were using some type of floating worm about 7-10inches long, the body of the worm was a bit thicker then a zoom trick worm, and they were using it in a pink or cherbert color, the bass were just nailing it. Anyone know of this worm? Or any others that fit this description and float fairly well? Quote

Guest avid Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I'm pretty sure the trick worm sinks. go to wal mart and get some Charlies hi floaters. they float. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted February 8, 2007 Super User Posted February 8, 2007 Yes, the trick worm sinks and pretty fast. Quote
senko_77 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 The 3x trick worm is the only "floating" worm that I have seen that truly floats. It will float with a 5/0 superline EWG in it. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 The trick worm does sink but trigging them and using light wire hooks they sink slowly I only use Jelly worms and a couple of different ( Barlows and BPS) ribbon tail.Compared to those they sink more slowly I dint mean to give wrong info I know i still have a lot to learn :-/ Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 This is where I got the idea that Zooms were a Floater This is the product description on the Cabel's site; This high-floating design is absolutely deadly on pre-spawn bass in dense vegetation. It adds This is the linkhttp://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat600384&id=0023181115883a&navCount=1&podId=0023181&parentId=cat600384&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat600384&hasJS=true Are they referring to the tail as opposed to the whole worm???? Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 8, 2007 Super User Posted February 8, 2007 Any Strike King 3X worm will float.....and float well. Not true....The packages with the red lettering are the ones that float. The ones with purple lettering do not. Wayne Quote

justfishin Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Yea guys, you are right, the Trick Worm does sink, slowly, but, it does sink, sorry. I was not using my head. I have had a lot of luck throwing a white or white/pepper floating worm in the spatterdock though. Quote
