Sure. Free.

Free lure plus $10.00 handling and shipping.

Nothing is free.

"Lures For Free will never charge you. Our advertisers pay for your lures, including shipping."

That's what it says at their site. I still think it's a scam. Like Sam said... nothing is for free! Why would they be giving away lures and free shipping to just anyone?

Here's what it says:

"How It Works

LuresForFree.com is one of the most unique sites on the internet. We have partnered up with advertisers that want you to participate in their surveys, try their products, and voice your opinions. In exchange for your participation in these offers, we will provide you with lures. This works two ways. You will be presented with offers during the registration process and via email that will have a lure attached to them. Complete the offer, get the lure, it's that simple!

In addition to the free lures mentioned above, you can complete aditional offers and receive points that get cashed in for MORE free lures. The more points you earn the more lures you get.

These lures are 100% free. No shipping costs. No credit card needed. Join today and start earning lures!"

I'm not going to go for it, but I suspect some of us will.

My guess is that you will get some lures, but they also have your name, address, and phone number, and email.  What does that mean?   I don't know.

Do they "draw you into" something?

I don't know.

So whoever goes for it, please keep us advised.

I don't want anything "free". I would rather pay full bore retail than getting anything for "free".

"Free" costs WAY TOO MUCH!

As others have already said, there is no such thing as "free"....STAND CLEAR!

Sounds to me you "pay" by giving marketers your contact information, and "opt in" for market research, spam, flyers, phone solitations, etc.

At the end of the day, I'd rather spend the 6 bucks on a lure than endure the endless hassles.

No thanks.

Either that, or they rope you into the old Columbia House deal where they send you stuff you don't want and have to send it back before a date or then they charge you an arm and a leg.  No thanks, I don't need "The Best of Engelbert Humperdink"

They will make money selling your personal info to other marketing companies.  Soon your mailbox, email and phone machine will be FULL.  And all your info will be known.

That to me is a scary.  I shread all junk mail and go to the post office to mail my bills.  Too many dishonest people out there getting outgoing mail out of mailboxes or digging in your trash to get personal info to rip you off.  My town just had that problem with a couple getting checks out of people mailboxes and trying to cash them.  The internet is no different.  Dishonest people and companies trying to get personal info to make a dishonest buck.  And the honest ones are to pay.

you should never participate in survey's etc or sites offering items for free in exchange for information. Even if you have a primary and secondary internet identity...and plan to use the secondary for this kind of thing, it is still not advisable. you would be amazed how much information someone skilled can get from just an email address and a nickname...even if they are faked.

1. these surveys add you to spam mail lists.

2. many of these surveys are not run by corporations or business's...they are one of the many "home business" opportunities you come across on the net. A large percentage of these network marketing systems are run by the guy who works at the gas station.

3. because a large percentage of these surveys are ran by individuals like you and me and people without proper security protocols...they are a MAJOR target for indentity theft and hackers.

a friend of mine use to work for an ISP doing security. If everyone knew exactly what goes on from day to day and just how talented some of the hackers are...you would turn off your computer and never turn it on again.
