Nate Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Went fishing at my dad's ponds today and couldnt catch a thing :'(... Now i know this place is loaded with quality fish with many over 5lbs. I tried everything but i couldn't get a hit. Any suggestions? Conditions: High 90's, Overcast, Wind 20mph, Water Clearity 6ft. Could you please help? Quote
Fish Man Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 some days the fish just wont hit and today may have been one of them, but it could have been to hot, just like extreme cold in extreme heat the fish will go down deep and become less active Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted June 19, 2007 Super User Posted June 19, 2007 It happens to the best of us That's why it's called fishing and not "catching". My advice: Pick up your rod and try it again! Quote
Nate Posted June 19, 2007 Author Posted June 19, 2007 Thank you RedneckRiot27. After I read your reply I went back down to the ponds and got on the deepest side and threw a Rapala (Craw color) and reeled really slow and caught two nice ones. No pics though but both about 4.5lbs. Quote
JuniorFisherJJ08 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 i was out today and my biggest was only 4.67 lbs. Only caught 3 after that. ive seen some quality lunkers in that pond. Over 7lbs. It was extremly hot. fish more at night on hot days in the shallows, deep in mid-day. Quote
