IdahoLunkerHunter Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 To Everyone, I Member Challenge you this weekend. The Challenge: Use a lure you are not familiar with, new color, or have never used. Monday tell us your outcomes. My Challenge: I just recieved some watermelon/Chartreuse/gold flake shads and going to S-Carolina rig the rocks for smallies. (New Color to me) Quote
Zel Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 There is an official area for member challenges at the top of General Bass Fishing, but I like this method better where I get to choose the lure I want to use. So okely dokely my lovely wife has got a list of things for me to do, but If I get the chance to sneak away this weekend, I'll take you up on the challenge. I've been hearing a lot about the newer type of plastic frogs, so I just picked up a pack of black Yum Buzz Frogs. I'll be trying the frogs for the first time and will be targeting lily pads. And if I get out, I'll report back on Monday. Quote
Painter Dude Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I'm game! I just got a batch of plastics from *** an was going to try them out this weekend anyhow!. I'll post my results here on Monday! Quote
rdneckhntr Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I plan on using a jig this month...well this summer...a lot. Ive fished with them before and ive caught 2 bass on them but ive never really stuck with it. Quote
Wurm Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Going to try senko sometime this weekend, and some of the lures I bought that I don't even know how to use yet. Will post a reply with results. Quote
Zel Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Only got out for about 4 hours Saturday morning, and only spent about an hour at the lily pads. Threw the Yum Buzz Frog intermittently with a Senko. Had about 4 hits on the Frog running it over the pads, but was unable to hookup. I even waited about two seconds before setting the hook... FRUSTRATING!... so the lure worked... the angler didn't. IdahoLunkerHunter Posted June 4, 2007 Author Posted June 4, 2007 The new shad color worked awesome. Fished Saturday for about 3 hours and landed 15 fish between 2-5 lbs. Pictures soon to be posted. Wife has the Camera. It only took about 10 seconds after throwing the shad for them to hit. The color is brilliant reflective in the sunlight even 10-15 feet underwater. Keep your lines tight and your hooks sharpened! Quote
Painter Dude Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I'm game! I just got a batch of plastics from *** an was going to try them out this weekend anyhow!. I'll post my results here on Monday! Fished the green pumpkin *** I got and caught three 1-2 lb LM and a Blue Gill that was not much bigger than the bait! Great Day anyhow! Quote
