Blue Streak Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Does anyone remember these guys? Are they still around? I remember they used to make soft plastic imitations of craws, hellgramites and so on. They also made some pretty nice worms at one time, one looked like little marbles almost the entire length of the worm. They worked. I think they also made some crankbaits other than those soft cranks they had. I bet there are still some of those soft cranks in tackle boxes of the people on here. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 Can't find any recent site for Burke, but a lot of folks are selling some of their oldies. Quote
NYfishwow Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Thats a old company for sure, i used hellgramites before for panfishing, they work for some fish. I don't think burke has a new store. sorry but can't help. Quote
Blue Streak Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 It looks like they were either part of Creme or were bought out by Creme. If you go to the Creme web site you can still see Burke products. I was just curious about what happened to them and if anyone on here has fond memories of their baits. Quote
paangler3117 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Those hellgrimites are like crack for river smallmouth! I got a whole bunch of em @ a flea market years ago, and i think i only have one or two left! Jim Quote
Super User CWB Posted February 19, 2009 Super User Posted February 19, 2009 I think their Deadly Dudly was one of the first true Buzzbaits. Man did I kill the bass on that for a few years!! Still have quite a few of their lures and use them sparingly. Quote
Blue Streak Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 When I was in WalMart today I saw there plastic "creature" baits hanging among the Creme baits. Guess I should have checked that out before I posted this. If you guys search for Burke Bait company you will be able to see their bait selection along with the Creme products. I bet they still make the hellgramite. Quote
Super User Marty Posted February 20, 2009 Super User Posted February 20, 2009 "Put a Burke where they lurk." That's a phrase I seem to recall. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 20, 2009 Super User Posted February 20, 2009 Anybody remember the Burke talkin frog. Took batteries and made a croaking sound when added to water. It was pretty goofy and needless to say I never caught anything on it ;D Quote
