nra4life Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 thats pretty interesting,by any chance do you know how they did it and what they used. i wouldnt mind catching 4 after 4 every day ;D I really don't have any idea, he was just telling me how he is going to have his own fishing show: and i asked about bill dance. Not to discredit Bill Dance as a fisherman, i really don't like watching his show anymore. I like shows that the guys go to public lakes that anyone can go to, and see them actually loose fish and catch smaller fish than 4lbs once in a while. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I'll pretty much watch any of them.I just don't care to watch saltwater shows. Quote
wvwask Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 i heard from a reliable source that on Bill Dance's show, the water is electricly shocked causing the fish to bite anything they see. He fishes his own private pond. Every fish he cathes looks the same, good tips but not really realistic That is a crazy idea.. I hope it isn't true.... Quote
tbone31 Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I'm sorry but if I fished the places Bill Dance fished I would look like a top notch pro also!! When you see his next show look at what body of water he is fishing in see if it does not look like it's about 20-30 acres, A lot of times you can see the banks of opposite sides are not very far away from each other! Bet the fish are not pressured. Quote
Guest hibachi Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 I know a lot of you have already said this but, I too think that "The Bass Pros" is the best, most informative bass fishing show on TV. Which it is on tonight! Quote
whistlepig Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I remember one of Bill Dance shows where he wore the same clothes but he used 2 different belt buckles Quote
moloch16 Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I seriously doubt shocking the water causes the bass to eat everything in site. Last time you were shocked did you run off to the local buffet and chow down? Scientist shock the water to stun and count fish. Not sure how that would work for fishing Quote
Big T Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 There are still some fishing shows that I still like but not many. Most have turned into infomercials for the sponsers, which I would like to know how many products these guys actually use. But getting back on topic the shows that I like are Fishing the Keys with Flip Pallot and the Hunt for Big Fish with Larry Dalhberg. I am with Avid ,I am also going to miss ole Jerry McKinnis. His show was great. He fished everywhere in everything from a Ranger Bass Boat to a canoe. Big T Quote
bassassinator Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I happen to know a man who used to fish in the Pro Am with one of the pros who has a TV show(I will leave the names out). This was several years ago. He (my friend) told me of a time where they(the pro and his staff) were going to shoot a show in N. Missouri. When they were scheduled for the shoot the weather turned bad and it could not be done, so because of time constraints, my friend was hired to pre fish the lake, keep the fish alive for a day in order that the crew could just come out, put the boat in the water, do a fast shoot using the fish that were already in the livewell and get it produced. They actually would film a fake hook set, cut the camera, hook one of the pre caught fish and film it comming out of the water! That is TV magic! Quote

George Welcome Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 When you electro-shock the water, fish float to the surface belly up and Chet and Angie, (both touring Pros) know that, so I doubt that he would have said such nonsense. It amazes me that with zero knowledge of reality so many would speak as if they had the inside track. Quote
jomatty Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 in ikes book he says that it is standard practice to do the ole fake hookset, get one out of the livewell bit. it dosent sound far fetched to me. the only way i could see them using electro shock is to load the live well. no way it would make them bite more afterwards. if that were the case someone would be talking about it and selling soemthing similar. matt Quote
