Waterwolves Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 If you could take a guided LM bass fishing trip any where in the western United States where would you go. I figured this is probably the best place on the net to ask this question because there is fishermen from all over the country on this site. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted May 28, 2007 Super User Posted May 28, 2007 Clear Lake in Northern California. Since you ruled out other countries, I think this is the place for the bass of a lifetime in the US. Ronnie Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Clear Lake in Northern California. Since you ruled out other countries, I think this is the place for the bass of a lifetime in the US. Ronnie right on! Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 28, 2007 Super User Posted May 28, 2007 I'd spend a week with Tom Redington on Lake Fork Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted May 28, 2007 Super User Posted May 28, 2007 Another vote for Clear Lake. Possibly the California Delta. Falcon Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted May 28, 2007 Super User Posted May 28, 2007 Nowhere in the U.S. I would like to fish Lake Baccarac or Cuba though. I actually disagree with with Ronnie. Clear lake is a tough place to catch a double digit. But it is SOOOO full of 4-8lbers its not even funny! If you truly want a fish of a lifetime ( double digit+) Lake Casitas in the winter or early spring is where I would place my bet. Haven't got to fish it yet though.... Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 28, 2007 Super User Posted May 28, 2007 1. Clear Lake, CA 2. California Delta 3. Dixon Lake, CA Roger Quote
Guest avid Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 The trip I keep thinking about is with Randall in Georgia. I know I'm gonna do it, just don't know when. Quote
blanked Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 after fishing southern cali lakes for years here is my opinion. all southern cali lakes are small and during spawn the experinced local fishermen will have pretty much gone over the lake in a couple of hours. so there is tremendous fishing pressure looking for big bass. these lakes are also very deep so looking for lunkers in summer in 40-60 foot water isnt very easy. most avid fishermen in southern cal are still dreaming of there double digit bass. wvwask Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 lake okeechobee for me. I think all of those fishing shows I used to watch probably influence that. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Varner, I would love to fish it with Randall. Any one of the big lakes in Minnesota, with one of the Linders! Quote
Gotta Love It Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I know he isn't a guide... but I would like to catch a few lunkers with Fish Chris! Even if we didn't catch a hawg, the ability to learn from another angler that is positive and has that many DD bass in the boat would be GREAT! Quote
Waterwolves Posted June 1, 2007 Author Posted June 1, 2007 Thanks guys for all the reply's. How about Amistad? I heard it is hot right now. Has anybody fished it and what are your thoughts on that lake producing a huge fish? Quote
Shad_Master Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I had a chance to meet Rich Clunn last year and asked him a similar question -- of all the lakes he had ever fished, which is his favorite -- his answer surprised me: Lake Champlain and Lake Mead. Just for what it's worth. Quote
