I live in a golf course comm. in Pinehurst NC, great fishing almost anytime. my ? is iwant to fish this highly visable spot that is off limits to fishing due to the fact its the main entrance to the club, therefore night time is my only option. 1)do LM bass feed at nite? 2) what type of bait? top water or bottom? any suggestions would be great. Thanks

!. Welcome Aboard  :)

2. Suggestion- Don't get caught, trespassing is illegal and you won't find many here that will encourage you to pursue this, there are plenty of legal places to fish. ;)

3. As to Bass behavior, they absolutely feed at night and from top to bottom, that's where trial and error are going to be the plan till you figure what they want, that particular night

What is it lately with all these people wanting to trespass  :(

I love fishing but paying a fine is a waste of money that could buy me a new rod or reel or a couple days on the lake.

no, its not like that at all.

i dont encourage trespassing either..do you mean the only time your allowed to fish it is at night because no one is golfing?

yes, its discouraged during the day! didnt mean to ruffle feathers, please dont contact the bass fishing ethics commitee, for i just wanted some info.

let me guess,  they built a golf course around your favorite lake and made it  members only to golf and membership is 3x your yearly salary.  I say HAPPY FISHING.  Try topwater such as a Chugbug or other noise maker.

Why don't you try explaining yourself better instead of PMing people you don't know any thing about with smart *** remarks.

Oh and hopefully you send LBH the same PM  ;)

Let's lighten up guys.

Clarence clearly stated that he lives in this community and has legal access to the lake.

He wants to fish an off limits portion of the lake he pays to live on.

this is NOT trespassing.  It is at worse a violation of the homeowner association rules.

Apparantly the off limits area is visible from the entrance and the HOA decided they wanted to look at the lake and not fisherman when entering the property.

Clarence seeks to negate this "bad view" rule, by fishing at night.

I think it's reasonable.  But that is between him and his HOA.

as for night fishing Clarence, it can be extremely productive.

Surface lures the classic night lure the jitterbug and others do well at night.

Spinnerbaits work well.  One big Colorado blade and dark skirt.

Jigs with rattles.

Big worms fished slowly.

Get the picture?  If it catches bass during the day, it will catch them at night, just make common sense modifications to adjust for the darkness.  key in on the bass' other senses

good luck and have fun

All of that is fine and dandy

But I'm tired of getting PMs from people who don't know me or anything about me, this is a public forum so if you can't say it publicly then don't say it privately. I send PMs to members here daily, it's a Personal Message not a Personal Complaint Button!

Fine! Catt, your response had nothing to do with my question. I pm'd you only to let you know that. Why even post something if you cant help? you obviously have a winning personality , Im sure you have lots of fishing buddies! thanks to all who responded helpfully. and if you didnt know Catt is kind of a jerk! No pm sent.....

I wasn't going to get involved in this one, but here goes.  Clarence, as a fellow message board newbie I feel I owe this to you.  What you can learn from this site here is phenomal.  You want to stick around I promise.  Fortunatly, I had the good fortune of visiting the site 1,000's of times b4 getting off my arse and joining.  Catt is a very respected member on this site.  BR support and respect of us newbies is amazing also.  With such disrespect to anyone, much less senior members, i'm afraid people will be reluctant to help you.  I think Catt just misread your post.  I got it that you have the right to fish this pond, but not in view of the golfers.  Catt just missed that and was trying to save you a fine.  Maybe you didn't like how he handled it but not everyone is going to mesh.  Its probably in everyones best interest if just let it slide or say i'm not trespassing at night.  Hope you tear them up when you give the nightime a try.

What is proper protocall for PM's.  I've sent a few since i've joined.  I didn't realize I might be upsetting people.  I thought I was doing the proper thing by PMing.  In my opinion if any of the PM's I sent to members, that I know nothing about, I would  of been hijacking a thread.

Apparently Lower_Budget_Hookers & I miss read the same thing

I don't mind someone sending me a PM, I sent them daily, but I don't use PMs as a means to privately chastise someone about a post they made. That I do & will take issue with, if you want to discuss something on a public forum then keep it out here for everyone to read and judge for themselves who is right and who is wrong. Unless you are asked to take it off line by the person you have an issue with or by a moderator.

Ok I mistook your post and for that I apologize but to single me out while leaving LBH out is kind of wrong in my book. All you had to do was clarify you statement which you did after sending the PM.
