Avalonjohn44 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Picked one up at BPS this weekend. They were being grabbed up as quickly as the stockboy could pull them out of the box and put them on the peg. I was lucky enough to get one in shad color... At 20 bucks I was a bit disappointed at the paint job, but I was assured by another clerk there that these swam beautifully... I might try repainting it... Does anyone have any experience with this lure yet? The wire that holds the front and second link together is removable so you can add some tungsten bb weights. Does this weaken the lure? Has anyone had that wire slide out? It seems snug, but it can wear after some time... Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 17, 2009 Super User Posted February 17, 2009 Word of advice on the pin that holds it together: Push it in all the way and use something to pop it back out from the top.The hole goes all the way through. If it seems a little loose, like the one on the bait I bought, then take it out and use pliers or something to bend the pin very slightly. This will make it fit more snugly. I haven't caught anything on it yet as to reply on how durable it really is.I am not impressed with the overall tiny size of it either, but it swims really really well and looks great. I can see it working in the right situations or the right waters. I got one in shad color and I think I'll bust it out during the shad spawn around here.Should be gnarly. 8-) Quote
SoFl-native Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 i assume for 20 bucks you are talking about the shad not the tilapia/bluegill. The latter was 63 bucks at gander. i lolered. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Yeah, the small one. The big one was $50 at BPS, and they weren't moving... I will try bending it a bit. I already tried bending the eyes like the package suggests, but didn't notice it being any tighter... Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 17, 2009 Super User Posted February 17, 2009 Bending the eyes?? Didn't catch that on the box.I threw it away. Either way you just want to barely bend the pin just like tuning a crank bait. The slight bow should make it tighter. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I will never buy another product from T.T. again. Customer service is the pits. Plenty of other companies out there. Quote
tritz18 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Love the action of this bait, its amazing. I got the bluegill color and I think its one of the better paint jobs I have seen. What color did u get? As for the pin I slid it all the way up so you have to poke it out with something, feels tight to me. I wouldn't worry about it falling out. Quote

Not saying that you didn't get bad service. But, I got a bad shad swimbait and a sales guy from TT heard from someone else that my bait was bad and he went out of his way to get my phone # and make sure my bait was replaced and that I was happy. I wasn't all that worried about it but I was impressed with the fact that he called me to replace the bait and find out what went wrong with it. Could be that he just thought I could hurt his sales because of my relationship with many of the tackle store owners around here but I was still impressed with the service. Just out of curiosity what was your problem with TT. Quote
Matt 825 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I was very unimpressed with these baits. They are so small and look like they will break. I was hoping they would be similar to the Spro BBZ Shad, but they are not even close. I'll pay the extra $10 and go with the spro BBZ Shad. Quote
