langs15 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 So up here in Northern NJ, it's gotten pretty d**n warm and it's time to start my fishing season again. I was "fishing" yesterday but couldn't get a d**n thing except a little sunny trying to engulf my d**n lure. What should I try to fish right now as the water is a luttle murky, i'd say around the 50s and sunny out? Would a spinnerbait be good? How about just a ruber worm? I think i need to move it slow since it's spawn season right now(i think) and the season just started...any thoughts? Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 4, 2007 Super User Posted May 4, 2007 In murky water, I have a lot of luck with a chartreuse spinnerbait with one colorado and one willow-leaf blade. The color and the thump of the colorado helps the bass find the lure. Rat'l'traps and other such lures are good as well. I don't know how murky you're talking about though. Any lure that makes noise and is visible in muddy water would be good. Bright or dark colors, rattles, and thumping spinnerbait blades are the ticket. Also, in muddy water fish will tend to hang close to cover and you can find them shallow. I would also try dropping a texas rigged worm, a jig, or a Fat Ika next to, or into cover. Quote
langs15 Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 It's not a thick murky, but enough that you can't see the bottem. I was texas rigging a senko and it wasn't working =[ Quote
