Captain Obvious Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I just have a few ??? about the Dancing eel from YUM, does it work, and where can you fish it? I always wanted to buy one just to see the action but never pulled the trigger. So how would you rate it. Must have. Good for somethings. OK. Best left in the tackle box. ?????? Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 My category for it would be: Best left on the store shelf. It is a Bill Dance gimmick lure. Just about any normal crankbait will work better. If you're dying to try it out, melt half of a 7 inch powerbait worm onto the back treble of a bandit lure. Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted February 17, 2009 Super User Posted February 17, 2009 PM me your address and I'll mail mine to you. Bass Dude Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 It works great in golf course ponds---Just watch his show!!! ;D Quote
candc Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I haven't tried the Yums, but I have one of the OLD Dance's eel's from the mid 80's. It still sits in my tackle box, used it many times and never even had a strike with it. I'm just getting back into bass fishing with my son, so if anyone has any suggestions or hints as to how things have changed since 1990, let me know! I'm in southeastern N.C. Quote

Calcutta Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The dancing eel sucks because it looks like a tadpole. Bass dont like tadpoles. Quote
uicdent11 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Let's just say that if everyone on BR decided to mail each other the worst lure they'd purchased, somebody would be getting a lime green dancin eel from me. I fish a lot of private ponds and even these bass won't hit it. Quote
