Bad to da Bass Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 What brand of fishing gloves should I get? I have a tournament coming up that I think I will need them. I am looking for some that I can wear while I am fishing but still keep my hands pretty warm. Quote

clipper Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I just bought a couple of pairs of military style wool glove liners. A lot of guys around here are evidently using them, and I think I read where one pro recommends them as well. Haven't got to try them out yet myself but I have worn them for gloves in the past and they don't give a good grip on something slick. It will be interesting to see how they work. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted February 17, 2009 Super User Posted February 17, 2009 If you can find them, try the Seal Skinz Chill Blocker. They are getting harder to find now due to demand this time of year. They are 100% waterproof and very warm without the bulk of a normal glove. Cabela's used to list them on their website but I haven't seen them in a while. You may have to call them directly to see if they still stock them. http://www.danalco.com/htmls/products/products.shtml Quote
mtnbasser Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Give Under Armour liner gloves a look. been using them since last year and they are very warm with minimal if any loss of feeling. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 17, 2009 Super User Posted February 17, 2009 I use Seal Skinz socks when the water is cool on the beach. Water seeps in, I'm looking for a different brand. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 17, 2009 Super User Posted February 17, 2009 I use Serius Hyperlite gloves. Windproof, waterproof, breathable, very thin. Quote
SimonSays Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Try the North Face Apex bionic gloves. They're water proof and warm and you can pick em up at most sporting goods stores. I got my Seal skinz gloves and socks on ebay. I love the socks but the gloves are kinda iffy, they don't let your hands breathe as well as they let on....but they are waterproof Quote

KevO Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I bought these last week: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_85096?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT&cmid=PP_P1_2 I used them for the first time on Sunday at Dale Hollow, they were a life saver. It was freezing out there. They kept my hands dry and the thumb and fore finger tip fold back to aid in knot tying. Got em on clearance too. I would recommend something to stick inside of them like a hand warmer if it's really cold, they are kind of thin. Quote
