This is my buddies pond in swansea, sc. It is approx 6 football fields. Not quite sure but i was wonderng about different techniques on fishing the pond. The left side is mostly 5-10 ft deep while the right side (about 1/4) of the pond is all stumps and very shallow (1 to 3 ft). We mostly throw texas rigged worms and white spinnerbaits. I want to be more productive when i go next time. Ive been experiencing with topwaters, shaky jig head fishing. There is a lot of algae on the bottom and floating and it causes a lot of trouble with the bullet weights. Is there any crankbaits u would recomment, preferably shallow runners in the deep areas. I heard of using Zoom horny toads but i havent tried them yet. We usually throw flukes around the lily pads and stumps. any advice would be great.

I would say to keep on trying a bunch of different techniques and find out what works best in what area. It sounds like you are already doing that. I would use almost everything in there, especially weightless trigged plastics, those sound like they would be killer on that pond. Don't leave out jigs either, they could be really effective around submerged cover.

Best of luck to you

Sounds like you're already fishing it right. I like to throw a Rapala shallow shad rap in the pond I fish where the water only gets down to 3 or 4 ft. Maybe try different spinner styles (colors and blade combinations). I have a 4 blade spinner that looks really nice when retrieved.

Wow dude. Sounds like my fishing paradise. On the deep side, its all about the Lipless Cranks. Oh my god I'm getting aroused just thinkin about it..... oh! Sorry.

The shallow side is just a spinnerbait Mecca. Timber and lillypads? Spinnerbait all depends on water clarity. White w/ double nickel willow blades in clear water. White/chartruese tandem willow in lightly stained. Chartruese double gold colorado/indiana in heavily stained. Firetiger double gold colorado/indiana blades. Run that spinnerbait right into the stems of the lillypads. Oh my god, dude. Lillypads are like awning to bass. Great cover. Great place to bull the beasts out. The clearer the water, the faster you reel the spinnerbait. Make it look like the stupidest fish in the lake. Have fun man, enjoy it.

Nice Pond, sounds like mine.  The first thing I would do is spray with Copper Sulfate to get rid of the algae.  I do this to my pond and it makes the fishing a lot easier.  My pond is a 'Run-Off' pond and does not have a "running water" supply.  Algae depletes oxygen so I deplete the algae.   Dosen't hurt the fish.  I agreee with Cigarlover on the way to fish it.
