Will Bill ever fish in a large resorvoir with wind?  Every time I tune in he's visiting uncle Larry's 3 acre pond with absolutely NO wind.  The only condition that changes on his show seem to be the temperature.

LOL ;D Ya, probably not.  Oh well, I like watching his shows.  At least with his show its not a running infomercial with the latest new lure featured at your local Bass Pro Shops.  I can't remember which show I was watching but, Hank Parker was on it and every other word out of his mouth was how great the new Diamond Shad lure was, or how great the new X2 Bass boat performed.  That seriously was all they talked about.  Nothing about fishing itself.  I was actually suprised when they went to a commercial.  I'm like, "wasn't I just watching a commercial?"  Even with the biggest case of cabin fever in the world, I couldn't watch it anymore and turned the channel after about 10 minutes.

Heh I couldnt agree with you more on this one. I know he is a good angler but seriously anyone of us who posts on this forum can catch lunkers in a small privately stocked, protected, private pond. I personally never seen him fish anywhere but private lakes. Thats why I have a lil bit more respect for the other TV shows that go to public waters to do there TV shows.

IF you dislike fishing shows that are about advertising, check out Fishing University with Charlie Ingram on VS network.

Charlie Ingram is by far the worst when it comes to promoting products.  It's funny, but when VS displays which show is coming up, they will have a subtitle explaining what the show is about.  For example, The Jimmy Houston Show was coming up next, so the had "Jimmy Houston" with the word "crankbaits" underneath, thus letting the viewer know Jimmy Houston's show will be dealing with crankbait fishing.  Well, Charlie Ingram's show was coming up so VS listed the show as "Fishing University" with the word "Kistler Rods" underneath it.  So his show topics have nothing to do with fishing techniques, but with products.  I watch that guy just to see how much lower he is going to go (the best so far was when he had edible baits that even humans could eat, and he actually ate one.)

Yes! I saw that show when he ate the bait himself!  I can't beleive he didnt apply the lunker sause he  sells on it before he had that snack. Every time he lands a fish he has to drag it over the side and sit down in the drivesrs seat to unhook the fish.

Do you see the size of that guy?  There is no way he is leaning over to land these fish unless he sits in the drivers seat.

A lot of people make crap of Bill Dance, but he is making a good living fishing. What are you all doing to make a living? I would not bet my skills against Bill Dance, would you? Next time you jerks are at work and are thinking about how much you hate your jobs, think about how Bill Dance feels. He also used to make a decent buck in the early days of tourny fishing.

Speaking of eating baits, did anyone see A show with Fish Fishburne about 10 years ago when he reached over the side and grabbed a handfull of what I thought was Millfoil and ate it? He started sputtering talking about snails......I haven't laughed that hard for a long time. Bring back Team Grandma!

I saw Bill fish Okeechobee many years ago,...of course he was in waders and in the canals around the lake.  Dang, he caught some nice fish on that show...last one was a 10lb + fish on a 6inch rapala floating minnow.   Not sure I'd be wading in there with the gators.

My thoughts may run against the tide of opinion, but I can't be upset over any of these ole timers, making a buck hawking fishing products.  Bill Dance, Roland Martin, Hank Parker etc.  these guys are the pioneers.  Remember, when they were out there doing it in the early years, it was a huge gamble.

Not only did they have to worry about finishing in the money, but the whole concept was new.  They didn't know from one year to the next if the whole thing wasn't just another passing fad.

They paid thier dues, now it's their turn to get paid.

I couldn't agree more avid.  While I find Roland's overt plugging of his sponsors products a trifle overbearing (at least to the extent that he does it), would most of the complainers rather not have a show to watch at all?  Roland pretty much set the standard when it comes to fishing shows.  I know his was the first fishing show I ever watched and I grew up idolizing Roland and his ability.

That hasn't changed after almost 20 years.  More often than not, if Roland recommends a product, I'm going to try it.

Someone has to pay the bills.

Let's try to get back on topic here fellas. The thread starter wants opinions on specific Dance videos.

If you want to argue about how great Bill Dance is,please start a new thread so I can state my opinion.  ;D
