Lake Fork this Sunday

Well Guys were heading for Lake Fork this Sunday for a week. First and foremost I wish I hadn't booked my trip before I found bassresource.com. I am envious of the camaraderie of the official trip. However I do think it may be an advantage to be down there before the "Big Dogs" come in.

Heres my question: If you could only have 3 to 5 items in your tackle box for the week what would they be? Give color, weight, size and reason. I thought this is the fastest way to pick many great brains. They're calling for sunshine and mid seventies air temp which should warm the water to the mid 50's.

Give me some feedback and I will post every night to how it goes.

1/2oz black/blue jig blue trailer, 1/2 and 3/4 oz rattletrap, red. orange, craw,  1/8oz T-rig lizzard, watermelon/red.  1/2oz double willowleaf spinnerbait, white, white/chartruse.

Strike King Series 4s Crankbait in Firetiger - For whatever reason my dad and I hammered them with this bait (including the one in my avatar) when we were down there a couple years ago.  We found spawning areas with wood (that narrows it down ;D) and went to work.

Lipless cranks in red, orange, chrome

Flukes - I personally like watermelon with chartreuse tail in the prespawn

Jigs - black, blue, green, brown

Big worms

I was just down there 2 weeks ago, and the biggest fish we saw/heard caught while we were there were on 1/2 oz red rattle trap(with a chartruese belly), and another guy caught a 9+ and a 10+ less than an hour apart using a suspending rogue. We also saw a 7+ caught on a junebug colored 7" power worm.

Most of the fish we caught while there were on a white booyah boogie bait (chatterbait) with the trailer tails dipped in red spike it.

1/2-3/4 oz red milo rattle baits.

Jig/pig   blacks/blue with purple trailer and june bug or camo colors.

Lizzards

1/2 oz - 1oz spinner baits, blades will depend on water/weather conditions, ie.....cloudy, sunny.

Last Saturdays sharelunker came off a 1/2 oz trap I believe.

For bed fish here's what I think from most important to just important:  small, lots of movement, easy to flip and guide to a bed, easy to see, weedless.  So a small creature bait like a 4" Grande Mutant in white or junebug (depending on conditions) texas rigged or equivalant should do the trick.  Tubes also fit the bill but lack some movement.  Off the beds  fishing shallow I like a senko in watermelon or junebug with a chart. tail fished vertically around timber,  a near weightless watermellon lizzard dragged just above the hydrilla, a red or chrome trap fished the same way, and a white/chart spinnerbait anywhere.

Thanks for the thoughts.  After 3 trips over the last 3 weeks I think I have most of the Cabela's store in my suburban. (Had to leave it out there so my wife doesn't find it)  We are heading out Sunday and I will be in contact with Triton 21 as to whats working and whats not.  I will also try to post nightly.
