I started saving for the trip next year.

When do you guys typically decide the location?

LBH started it, when his vacation time was locked in he announced a return to Fork and offered an open invitation for anyone to join him...  it just snowballed from there.

I started saving for the trip next year.

Just don't look into that envelope about mid summer and decide that you'd rather have a new reel or GLX rod!  ...lol

We usually decide around Oct-Nov but the week will be picked by May so people can put in for the time off.  (This is when we choose our vacations for the year at UPS)

I usually aim for the 3rd week in March, next year, we may aim a little more for pre-spawn instead of spawn.  Perhaps the 2nd week in March.

Keep that envelope shut!! :)

LBH,

If you decide Fork again, remember there will be fish on beds into early May so if you make the trip a little later you can actually fish your choice of prespawn, spawn and postspawn (which is topwater) all on the same trip. And the later you wait the better chances of stable weather.

Just food for thought.

Maybe for next year (although I like Tx) you could field some options of warmer weather destinations and then we could make a thread of it with a poll for location.  Again, just thinking out loud... this year is easy for me, just 1 full tank of gas to get there but a hefty price for some of you.  I'd certainly entertain the idea of a number of places in the southern part of the country.
