Guest Feel_The_Steel Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Guys, I was wondering your opinion on weather or not changing Day light Savings is going to effect the spawn or not? I have been thinking that the increase in sunlight that will now happen a month earlier may cause water temps to rise earlier than before thus causing the spawn to take place a few weeks earlier. Am I crazy for my thinking or is this something that others have considered as well??? :-?
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 20, 2007 Super User Posted February 20, 2007 As far as I know, we do not control the sun. ;D ;D ;D The only thing daylight savings effects is us.
Lucky Craft Man Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I've turned the clocks ahead in my house a month ago and there is still ice on the lake. Go figure.
bocabasser Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 feel the steel--does this mean you were popped in the head with a heavy steel object? the last time i checked, fish do not have clocks. LOL
Shad_Master Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Many years ago I visited the state capitol in Little Rock and there was a letter posted on the wall that a lady had sent to her state senator asking him not to vote for dayling savings time because her poor flowers couldn't stand another hour of sunlight each day. I hope you are not offended by these comments, just think about it.
Nick B Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 The bass dont set their clocks back, the DST only effects the angler
Fisher of Men Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 : Be nice, guys. Seriously, I'm kind of stoked about it starting three weeks early. It will give me some 15 hours of extra "after work" pre-spawn bass fishing.
Bassinfreak2 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I believe the spawn will start earlier. ;D
Hale Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Its funny...but there is the aspect of the days being longer regardless of what your clock says. Im sure someone could find a way to discuss how this affects fish (even though it has occured since the beginning of time).
VekolBass Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Feel the Steel is in good company. The Arizona State Legislature refused to adopt DST because they were afraid that the extra hour of sun would burn the crops. Arizona and part of Indiana are the only areas of the country that have not adopted DST to this day.
Other. Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 There is always 24 hours in a day. However im with fisher of men, be nice.
SwampMan Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 is this a joke? It's not looking that way.
Bass Smacker Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I use to think just like that..... Then I quit smoking pot and now I'm all better... Just kidding ;D Every one has a brain fart now and agene
