curious to know what you guys think about noise

I think noise depends on what type of water you are fishing....

Here is a good one for ya.... Get your hands on "Knowing Bass: The Scientific Approach to Catching More Fish". It is written by Dr. Keith Jones, the Director of Research at the Berkeley Fish Research Center. It's an awesome read and it will open your eyes as to how and why bass behave the way they do.

I would like to say that I remember all that stuff from my college days as a fisheries biology major, but I have to admit I don't remember a whole lot of it because I'm not in the field anymore...   :-/

ay thanks for the recomendation I will look into it....right now I am reading the In Fishermen's Largemouth Bass book....it is very interesting as it breaks down areas by topography be it a reservoir/man made lake/river etc...

Being a grandfather, I have to wonder if the tradition of not talking while you are fishing has been handed down from grandfather to grandson in the interest of peace and quiet for the grandfather not the fish .  As we get older we do appreciate tranquility more.

My take on it is don't drop things in the boat, stomp around, switch the trolling motor on and off, bang things around, etc. Talk all you want, the fish can't hear that. I think my dad and granddads always told me to shut up because they wanted a little bit of peace and quiet.

something to try. when bass are negative. try moving the boat 6-10 feet at a time  ,and fish slower(trolling motor on and off).   instead of putting your trolling motor on slow and just moving down the shoreline.   many times for me it can make a difference(imho). makes you fish slower and you dont have the noise of the trolling motor all the time.    pete s.

kbhere  good answer  rw there not the only ones that dont like the dixie chicks..    one guy i use to fish with would beat the water with pole  he said you have to tell the fish he  is here?
