After reading kbkindle's thread "come back lure" in the smallmouth bass fishing forum it reminded me of a small pond that I fish a lot in the summertime. The cool thing about this pond is that about half of it is choked with pads and weeds and the fish stay active all day long, chasing bream, crawfish, and dragonflies. And pretty much the only way you can catch fish there is to walk around the pond with a flippin' rod and when you see a fish break just pitch in there with a t-rigged sweet beaver or a jig. My best day there was 4 fish over 4lbs and 2 around the 5lb mark. I just think it is kind of strange how you can cast all day and catch one or two fish but you can load up if you just wait until you see the fish.

Thats great when you have a day of fishing and you add to your totals big time with blow-ups, its fun when you see the swirl and rush of water pitch a lure right to where it occured and before your eyes you see the line shooting out, it helps me out personally big time when your in competition like when i go away to maine for vaction and my best friend challenge our dads and claim the championship!

There's a pond that my parent's friends own, and they've pretty much named their pond after me because that's where I fish a lot. The biggest bass I caught out of that pond was back in 1998 I believe,  I caught a 3 pound 10 ounce largemouth on a beetle-spin. He was sitting up by the bank not 2 feet away from me and I cast the beetle-spin out and worked it back to the bank where he anhiliated it! I got soaken wet that day! It was the best!

Now I've beat that record at the Potomac in our club when I caught a 4 pounder on a BOOYAH! spinnerbait. One day I will break that record again!  ;) We've got our own pond now and I've just made some cover for the fish in it (we stocked it back in the summer) and I will sink it this spring or when it warms up.

God bless  8-)
