Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted February 14, 2009 Super User Posted February 14, 2009 Rapala does make a nice bluegill crank...I also like the Mann's bluegill color Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 14, 2009 Super User Posted February 14, 2009 My PB was caught on a Norman Fat Boy, bluegill pattern. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 14, 2009 Super User Posted February 14, 2009 X3 on the rapala crankbaits. Caught my PB on a bluegill rapala dt4. X 4 they have the best color that I have seen, just my two cents! Quote
mattm Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I can't believe nobody has pointed out my first thought. Mattlures doesn't make crankbaits to my knowledge. If his baits are all swimbaits like I think good luck finding a better bargain. They look ultrarealitic b/c they are swimbaits unless I've completly missed something. Quote

Yeah I thought about that too the only thing I could think of to why he said that is if maybe he saw matts hard bluegill the wake version with the bill and once saw the bill just immediately thought crank. Even though its a swimbait and just got confused? Haha thats the only reason i could think of. Quote
detroit1 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I was going to say Bandit & Rapala, but i was beaten to it. Quote
Calcutta Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 My PB was caught on a Norman Fat Boy, bluegill pattern. I second the bill norman fat-boy. Its just about all I use. Quote

Even though its a swimbait and just got confused? Haha thats the only reason i could think of. I think the train of thought was 1. Those mattlures bluegills look like real bluegills 2. That's an awful lot to pay for a single bait 3. Crankbaits are less expensive than swimbaits 4. I wonder who makes the best bluegill crankbait 5. I think I'll ask the readers of bass resource their opinions are based on hard facts and evidence without any predisposition or judgments. Quote
