shootermcbob Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Has anyone ever fished these crankbaits???? If so, what has been your experience with them? Quote
Handy Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 If you are referencing the ones from cabelas I have 5 of them in 2 sizes. The only problem with them is one of mine has a cracked lip. I have had it for a ling time but just noticed last year so I stopped using it(not that it got used allot anyway). I do throw my other ones once in a while but I have yet to catch a fish on any of them, probably more me than the cranks. Hope this helps. Paul Quote
UPS VT Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I bought one last year, but I must admit I did not use it. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 14, 2009 Super User Posted February 14, 2009 The original Big O's were originally whittled by Fred Young well over 30 years ago. They were the first of what the tackle industry called the alphabet plugs. Big O, Big N, Super R, Balsa B, etc. They demanded big $$ on the BASS trail back then since there were so few around. I've used them on and off. I've had better luck with a long discontinued Rogers bait called the Big Jim and of course, the old Balsa B's. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 15, 2009 Super User Posted February 15, 2009 The only ones I use any more are the smallest size (about 1 1/4") for post spawn shallow fishing. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 15, 2009 Super User Posted February 15, 2009 I have never used the ones made out of balsa, but I do use the plastic ones quite a bit. I like the 1/4 ounce size ripped over the tops of weeds. Quote
