OBX-BASS Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 i know its kind of early to be askin' since we are only just over a month into 2007. but whats yalls biggest bass of '07 so far? also what kind of lures and presentations have you guys been using? i have caught just a couple little guys back in January. It has gotten really cold here in VA lately so i havnt been able to go out since all the lakes and ponds i fish at are frozen over. haha but i caught all of mine on jigs in deep cover and also bringing a spinner bait really slow about a foot off the bottom through some deep water....seemed to work for me...what about you guys?? basspro48 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I managed a few keeper size largemouth on the Pamunkey River using a Rootbeer Bandit 200 series crank and a black/blue jig in about 11' of water. My dad did haul in a nice 6lb striper from the Pamunkey on a ZOOM trick worm in Okeechobee Craw on a 1/4oz jighead in 5' of water. But I haven't made a cast since the beginning of January. I can't wait til spring cuz me and OBX are gonna be tearin up the brown bass on the Rivanna Quote

Guest avid Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I have one just under six pounds that I caught just a few days ago. My boga grip scale doesnt' give exact ounces but that's ok, because it is deadly accurate. I posted the pic. Another one of "Avids famous fish heads in the shadows." I do have a reputation to maintain you know Quote
justfishin Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I just cannot get to those bass. I went the other day and tossed a tube and it just slid across the ice. I threw a spinnerbait and it just slide across the ice as well. I need to learn more about this winter fishin. What am I doing wrong? Quote
