Use a 3" Brewer's Grub on a 1/16th oz. slider head. Fish it SLOW, SLOW and SLOWER near or in deep water adjacent to spring area shallows.. Greens or Baby Bass colors are killer for me even when ice is still on some of the water...

The single hardest time ot the year; SLOW AND SMALL are the best approaches for me here in North East PA> This is the most difficult time of the year to boat a keeper for me

I get the most sucess with : #7 or #9 Rapala Original Floating Minnow Gold or Silver, The Wild Eye Finesse Minnow by Storm ( don't use the enclosed split shot I rig it weightless) and I use small Live Minnows at this time of the year

On the Lake I fish the most I look for places that have the most sunlight and gravel bottoms , By using the depth finder we have found places that are as much as 5 to 8 degrees warmer than other parts of the lake and have more suscess in these areas than others. I hope that helps, i have limited sucess this way which is a better result than when i first started fishing ice out :)

1/2oz SpinnerBait with downsized willow leafs burned back to the boat, or a 1/8oz ball head jig with a 4.5in or 6.5in GYCB Kut Tail Worm. I have caught fish in water that we had to breakthrough to get out onto the main lake, low water temps in the 35°F range.
