Cigarlover 1 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Being that I am a newbie to the sport of LMB fishing and haven't had the opportunity to try many new techniques and lures I plan to use Fork as a place to do this. A couple of my goals are to catch a fish on a jig and practice pitching/flipping. Anybody else have any set goals in mind while at Fork, other than catching a 15 lb. Largemouth? ;D Will any of these be a first? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 This for me is much more of a social vacation than a "I have to be successful" vacation. I did that last year and it didn't happen. I always seem to have better luck when I don't care about catching so my goal is to have a blast, meet some people I've been waiting a long time to meet and build us a kickazz video. Hopefully, I'll catch somthing in the middle of it all! Cigar- we can work that jig at my lake where I know what I'm doing, lol, you want to learn the jig in a place where confidence will come quickly. By all means throw it at Fork, probably be crazy not to but if the magic doesn't happen don't be discouraged, we can remedy that right quick when we get back. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 27, 2007 Super User Posted January 27, 2007 I just want to have fun and go fishing with as many of you as possible. If I find a 13+ getting ready to spawn all deals are off though. Quote

Doghouse. Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 13+ Lol lets get over the 10+ first brother Quote

Largemouth? ;D The 15lb LM is about it for me! ;D This trip will be a great adventure, even if the Lake dries up. If I didn't know how to have fun without catching a lot of fish, I would have to give up fishing. LOL But if I don't catch a few, it won't be because my line wasn't wet. 8-) Ronnie Quote
Guest Texas_Bass_Pro Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I can't say that I don't have goals. One goal is to meet new people. Another goal is to LEARN!! And of course one goal is to break the state record!!! LOL Quote
Guest avid Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Eat, drink, hang out with y'all, catch a few decent fish. I'm easy. Quote
Super User flechero Posted January 27, 2007 Super User Posted January 27, 2007 Eat, drink, hang out with y'all, catch a few decent fish. I'm easy. Well said, I'm also placing emphasis on making and spending time with new friends. I'll refrain from making many on the water goals... the one I do have is to put my passenger(s) on to some big enough fish that they call me for an "assist" in the landing! There is no telling what conditions will be like that far out. Spring weather in east Tx is wildly unpredictable... we could be anywhere between wearing coveralls w/neck gaitors or shorts with sunscreen. ...lol Quote

Guest the_muddy_man Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Hey Fellas; I just wanna enjoy a good road trip with the fellas in the Bass Bus; cook for my friends, and enjoy the groove. I have never caught a big fish it would be nice but all I want is some boat time with some of the fellas I have met on line Quote
RiskKid. Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I'm just planning on having a "TEXAS SIZED" time! Quote
