BASS fisherman Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 http://www.mrlurebox.com/GeorgePerryBass.htm Found this link on another site. Claims to be a picture of the world record bass. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 That's the same pic that was in Bassmaster last year.....and some believe that its not even Perry in the photo. Quote
VABasser Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 If I remember correctly this was in a Bassmaster a couple months ago. They had an article about it. I could probably go dig it up but I'm feeling kinda lazy. I think they said it wasn't 100% sure it was a legit photo but it most likely was. Its been exam week though so my brain might not be functioning properly. Quote
BASS fisherman Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 I figured I missed something. According to what I have read, Perry was 19 or 20 when he caught the record. That man looks older than 20 years old. Could it possibly be the older gentleman who took Perry fishing that day, Jack Page? If it is, why would he want to pose for a pic with it since it wasn't his fish? Or why would Perry let him? Quote
Super User cart7t Posted January 27, 2007 Super User Posted January 27, 2007 Somewhere in those two articles they think the shot was taken somewhere near the town square in Helena, Georgia. The town where GP took the fish to have it weighed. BTW, here's a Google earth of Montgomery lake. It's in the middle of the picture just off the river. It's barely visible through all the trees and like the article says, is probably mostly silted in Quote
boondocks Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 What is that, A lead ball in that fishes gut? I'm kidding. I'm kidding. It was only a joke. Quote
Valascus Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Ugh...God I hope this doesn't start a giant storm...this has been debated over and over and over again. We've beaten this dead horse so much it's turned into dust and ash. Quote

Super User cart7t Posted January 27, 2007 Super User Posted January 27, 2007 It says in the article that Perry was a pretty modest guy. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 27, 2007 Super User Posted January 27, 2007 Regardless of whether it's the record or not, that fish is a TOAD. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Here a link from when that issue of Bassmaster came out. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1148412840/1#1 Quote
